Y2Kyoto: I'll Miss The Polar Ice Caps

Daily Mail;

To the surprise of academics from the University of Reading, the records kept by the expeditions of Captain Robert Scott and Sir Ernest Shackleton in the early years of the last century -- which detail the extent of ice cover, the state of the sea and the weather -- show there has been remarkably little change in the extent of sea ice at the other end of the world.

Dr Jonathan Day, who led the study, said: 'The data collected by these and other explorers could profoundly change the way we view the ebb and flow of Antarctic sea ice.

'We know that sea ice in the Antarctic has increased slightly over the past 30 years, since satellite observations began.

'Scientists have been grappling to understand this trend in the context of global warming, but these findings suggest it may not be anything new.'

History is clearly wrong.

Damn you, Trump!

Those damn liars Scott and Shackleton!!! What did they know about Antarctica ice? They only spent about most of their careers around,WITHOUT models. They were obviously deranged and delusional! ( road stop??)

The ONLY information regarding the Antarctic that I have read in the mainstream (global warmist choir) media ... is that a Manhattan-sized piece of ice has broken-off Antarctica and is PROOF of how your sinful SUV driving is plunging the planet into a crisis of no return ... the ONLY option is to pay massive INTERNATIONAL taxes as a penance for your sins.

NEVER ever EVER ... does the mainstream media write:

The satellite records show sea ice around that mighty continent has been increasing to the point where last year, it reached its greatest extent since Nasa’s observations began in 1979.

Even more significant was another finding reported by Nasa last year, showing that the thickness of ice over most of that vast continent has been making colossal gains — as much as 112 billion tons a year between 1992 and 2001, and an average of 82 billion tons a year between 2003 and 2008.

The media was ALL-IN with HER
and they're ALL-IN with AGW

If you believe the media will stop LYING to your face after their embarrassing shrillary for HER ... you're dreaming.

Well, if dead men can vote, why not dead men denying climate change? Scott and Shackleton, men before their time.....

Evidence is irrelevant. It only matters that they tell you 97% of scientists concour the planet is warming and it's man made . They may be mostly political scientists, but that too is irrelevant. To much evidence is just confusing for the uneducated and beyond their comprehension.

"...it may not be anything new."

Words feared and hated by apocalyptic fraudsters of all stripes.

Also when you see some pictures of nuclear subs at the north pole before they made up global warming, you see the sub floating in a large lake of open water.

Well, if you look at one of those pictures of the earth from space, you see that the north pole is at the top and the south pole is at the bottom.

With everybody breathing, and driving SUVs and heating their houses and flying off to climate change conferences in exotic locations, that's a LOT of warm air being produced.

Now we all know that warm air rises, so it makes perfect sense that the top of the earth should be getting warmer which is why the ice up there is all melting.

However, and this is the tricky part, we know that the earth hasn't actually gotten any warmer for the past 20 years. So the bottom of the earth has had to stay the same temperature or even get colder, simply because there isn't enough extra heat to go around.

... until Scott and Shackleton are "adjusted" out of the history books

Goddamn rite,JT! Them motherf***ers didn't even have computers!

How can we trust the word of old explorers against modern technology?

JDN, yeah, wait for it,some day these pioneers will become just too "inconvenient" to be left hanging around in moth eaten history books.

Every time I hear the 97% argument used by someone,I get the urge to perform an act of violence with an unmentionable weapon.

My wife was at a "sustainable development" presentation last evening. During the presentation, wife struck up a conversation with a lady next to her.As they became more familiar, the lady said," see that guy over there? He's a well known Climate Change denier!"

My wife said her tone was as if she'd said,"that guy is a child molester".

Entirely right, JDN. The abomination of the hockey stick was that it simply eliminated thousands of contemporary accounts across Europe and Asia of weather and growing conditions at the time of MWP and LIA. All the result of the arrogance of a singularly stupid associate professor.

Now that's science I can understand.

No surprise these observations and no surprise that the Progressive climate scientivists would "grapple" with a vexatious trend counter to their indoctrination and UN IPCC propaganda. Brings to mind the 1841 Lempriere-Ross mark, the oldest known Ordnance Survey Mark in Tasmania inscribed in sandstone rock some 30cm above the current mean sea level, which remains where it has always been wrt to MSL.

Carbon taxes - the modern-day equivalent of indulgences.

(Sorry, Catholics! I couldn't resist.)

Where's the modern-day Martin Luther when we need him?

Yes, all those photos of fairs on the Thames

Just proves BC's carbon tax works nut jobs.

I read Pierre Berton's (can't remember the title) book about the history of arctic exploration. One big problem the early explorers had was the drastically different ice conditions from year to year. One year a ship would sail very far north, then return with the intent of going father the next season, then they would get stuck in ice the next season and eat each other to stay alive. This book was written in the 60's, so there was no "global warming" agenda in it.

And suddenly ... Scott and Shackleton will have been notorious racists.

carbon taxes and computer models, just the formula needed to screw the people out of their hard earned pennies, because pennies will be all that are left even if they are just digital.

Funny that.
More "Fake News"?
I read of a university grad in the Yukon who obtained a govt grant to research the Hudson Bay records, with respect to the weather conditions recorded in the Factors Journals.
Results?

"Nevermind".

Sadly I had saved the details, on a microsoft based laptop.
Which naturally crashed and burned.
Notebooks are so much more reliable, the paper notebooks that is.

I think I have finally isolated the source for AGW. The hundreds of server farms using gigawatts of electrical energy, powering tens of thouands of computers running the faulty models of global warming. YOU have been warned, shelte-in-place-!!!
