According to police, the scuffle started when a passenger disagreed over bus fare.
Officers said the passenger swung a water bottle at the driver and started yelling, so the driver told him to get off.
The passenger spit on the driver, and then things got physical, police said.

The guy's name is "Fortier", so not an immigrant,and seeing as how it happened in Winnipeg, possibly some of his ancestors may have attended a Residential School,which should give him a reasonable defence in Court.
And the transit Union should teach their drivers a bit of self defence so next time he can lay the SOB out cold.
The fact that anyone might be supporting the scumbag passenger exemplifies how deeply broken are the moral compasses of some people. The "progressive" notion of "I Shall Not Judge" is what is at the heart of so much wrong with our society.
Progressives don't need to judge because they have prejudices upon which they have already decided every issue.
If the NDP was still the government of Many Toba, the bus driver would be facing charges instead.........
Bus drivers should be trained and capable of defending themselves and their passengers.
Apprehending criminals is a responsibility of all citizens under Common-Law.
Society is much safer when criminals have to go underground out of fear of being caught instead of being the crime overlords the laws and judicial rulings have elevated them to.
Notice that the left-wing CTV News seems to want the bus driver charged for defending himself.
Issue each driver with a tazer. Problem solved.
