About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Is anyone else concerned about our institutions being systematically undermined by the Trudeau government? Now it is the Supreme Court -- where members of the legal profession get to elect their own with some input from the governing party and now input from the legislature. The problem is that Canadian views across the country will nowhere be reflected in the make-up of the Supreme Court. (Bilingualism now being another requirement). The PMO will still be calling the shots, but they use this smoke and mirrors process to pretend otherwise. Much of this is being done in the name of "non-partisanship" -- because somehow people think that is a good thing. Unfortunately, partisanship is the only way to get disparate viewpoints on the table. Do you think any of the future SC appointees are likely to be pro-life . . . especially given the Law Society's treatment of a Christian university?
I am particularly concerned about the Senate at this juncture. What we will soon have is a few Conservatives Senators, some traditional Liberal appointees and a bunch of loose canons whose views represent no one but themselves. (Tomorrow is the deadline for YOU to apply to join the Senate, so if you have not already done so, better hurry up!). The problem is that parties represent constellations of policies and ideas. People join parties because they reflect their views. There are party conventions where official policies are decided, and to date, our Senate (with a few bad apples) operated in a way that was complementary to government. With the loose cannon approach, how will ideas be generated and policies and reports crafted that could indeed help to refine legislation. No one knows where any of the new appointees stand, and they are beholden to no one.
I don't care who you are, if you are beyond the reach of the process of public elections, you should not have a role in creating and approving legislation. Even with party appointments in the Senate, those Senators had to be accountable or risk getting booted from their party caucus and from the Senate itself. I am anticipating that this bunch of independent operators will ruin the find balance in our approach to legislation. I believe it it Trudeau's plan to weaken the Senate. I am concerned about who is advising him to take these measures? Where are our journalists and why do they not see a problem?

The undermining of traditional institutions and processes began under PET and PM Hairdo is gleefully continuing the destruction.
It's certainly discouraging to see what is happening to our parliamentary system. One might make one question whether it's worth casting a ballot in the next election as it seems that the government has such wholesale disregard and outright contempt for the voters. After all, it worked for wee Justin's hero Barry, didn't it?
Then again, that might be the objective in the first place.
And a great cheer went up from Lib connected law firms....

"Inquiry into missing, murdered indigenous women to cost nearly $14 million more than expected"
They need to cut to the chase...It is the "reparations" that must take place, the Inquiry will
identify a responsible party... Who do you think that will be? Canadians are UN piss-ants
The Black Lives Matter is 100% about reparations..Money! Money! & a BLACK Government structure to control the money...Paul Ryan has his own plan (co'ord with Bill Clinton) that may include another 50 Police assassinations and another 100 years of corrupt nonsense.
All this inquiry money could go to help aboriginal women directly. Instead most if it will go to Liberal friends such as lawyers and Indian leaders.
Or better yet, the inquiry money could stay in the pockets of taxpayers instead of being flushed down the aboriginal toilet.

Obama Offers Israel Biggest Military Package Ever, But Netanyahu Wants More
The military aid package in question, is going to be the biggest aid package the US have ever provided to any country, with total sum vary being some $40 billion or more for the next ten years. This is significantly more than the previous $30-billion agreement, signed 10 years ago.
Wait a minute. We have photographic evidence that Justin was out on a hiking trail on Tuesday. How could he be writing for the Glove & Mail at the same time? No way he wrote that column.
