So, here we go again, same old, same old, the response is o tell the people to be vigilant while the government fiddles. How the hell can you remain vigilant when walking down the street and some mad bastard lunges at you with a knife? How does being vigilant protect you from this?

This occurred to me as well, but we really don't know much about the rates of mental illness in Somalia or Sudan (whence have come many of "knife-men")in comparison to those of "Norwegians of Somali origin" or "Australians of Sudanese origin" (or any other combinations you care to think of).
