About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

For those interested in the weather/climate here is a link to a global weather site.
https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/overlay=temp/orthographic=-120.50,49.40,1106
The convoluters of truth will just claim this to be the "change" in Climate Change, or the ol' standby: "the oceans have been storing up all the heat."
I guess the global warming scientists were right. They said global warming would result in more extreme weather.
That's right frs, and the only people to whom that is surprising are those who believe the models are correct. If the models don't take into account the heat capacity of the oceans in forecasting global temperatures (and absorbing/emitting energy) then that's just another reason we shouldn't trust them.
Mathematical models are always smaller, inferior versions of the real thing and will always be wrong. Despite being wrong, some will be close enough to being right that they are useful. Global circulation models are not in this group, IMHO.
Wow.. a bone chilling -11C.. so cold man...
New Zealand is doomed.
Send them a copy of the Rodeo Song..
Of course the government can now say their carbon tax/mitigation efforts are working.
Actually even -4C is miserable in NZ, because there is so much moisture in the air.
-20 up here in the north is way more endurable.
Yet there is no more "extreme" weather than previously. There have always been hot and cold waves.

The washington Post wet their pants about a lack of hurricanes: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/the-us-coast-is-in-an-unprecedented-hurricane-drought-—-why-this-is-terrifying/ar-BBvgoBU?li=AA4ZnC&ocid=spartanntp
Jean,
Hey, I took the test and got almost all the answers "correct". So I guess my opinion is informed by science and my opinion is that there has been mild and beneficial warming since the Little Ice Age and "man made climate change" is bogus as a problem to mankind. And the Christian Science Monitor is an alarmist rag.

“Modelling is rather like masturbation – a pleasurable and
harmless pastime just as long as you don’t mistake it for
the real thing”
it's only a matter of time.
Yup, that's been my opinion as well.
This one picture explains it best:
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/57/83/0a/57830a14f23bad7031d3675417c3656e.jpg
Many alarmists can't get 50% of the questions right.
Who knew that Kathleen Wynne's wind-farms and Green energy plans would have such an immediate and dramatic impact? New Zealanders should sue the Ontario government for winter damage costs, because it's now proven that weather is just another resource under the firm, knowing hand of "expert" policy makers and bureaucratic budgeting systems.
When meteorologist's prediction ability of the coming weekend's weather is getting pretty close to random, who are these special scientists who can predict weather 10, 20, 30, or 100 years out? I believe the term is charlatan.
The kiwis are getting snow in august im sure the eco-wacko nut cases for Greenpeace or some other enviroentalists group as well as Al Gore and David Suzuki Leonardo DiCaprio and Luarie David and the rest o the Global Warming advocate will blame this on Global Warming and american motorists and backyard BBQ's
