Among other things, Ms Legaspi notes that expecting your own feelings to always be indulged and prioritised, however inconvenient to others and however small the slight, sounds an awful lot like "privilege."

About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Wellllll. I think somebody with a degree in basket weaving would work out quite well in the the business of designing nuclear weapons. Or just trying to get more SJWs on the gubbermint tit.
In her own words, here's what a liberal arts college education instilled in Ms. Legaspi:
1. Ask for help when you need it.
2. Speak up when you feel uncomfortable.
3. Place your own well-being above all other concerns.
Understood correctly, these might translate into: know your limits, you are not an island; have a voice, and don't be afraid to use it; and take care of yourself, so you're able to take care of others. What horrible and useless life lessons to have learnt.
On lessons #1 and #2, she's actually wrong that "acting in this way would have probably cost me my job". Stubbornly NOT asking for help when needed is probably the more likely dismissible action, since that would adversely affect customer service.
And as for standing up for oneself if made to feel uncomfortable, here's what McD's Standards of Business Conduct has to say about tolerating abuse: "McDonald’s employees have the right to work in a place that is free from harassment, intimidation or abuse, sexual or otherwise, or acts or threats of physical violence. We do not tolerate verbal or physical conduct that demeans another person, unreasonably interferes with another’s work performance or creates an intimidating, abusive, hostile or offensive work environment. For purposes of this policy, harassment includes slurs, offensive remarks, jokes, electronic communications, and other visual, verbal or physical conduct that could create an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment...Raise your concerns with your supervisor or Human Resources. If you wish to report anonymously, call the Business Integrity Line at 1-800..."
On lesson #3, sure, it's a place of business, so focusing ONLY on your own well-being above all other concerns will rightly get you fired. But in her original essay, Ms. Legaspi notes that she also experienced sexual harassment at her McD's workplace, which legally -- not to mention ethically -- takes priority over the delivery of excellent customer service. (Also, she apparently suffers from PTSD, which offers some insight into her comments about becoming anxious when the restaurant got noisy and crowded, etc.). Good thing she learned from school when to put her own needs above those of her corporate employer. And curious, how these bits of important contextual information got left out of the PragerU video version.
"I was instructed to give them the benefit of the doubt and give them what they wanted, sacrificing my own dignity."
Wow! Dignity indeed....Unfit to succeed anywhere, but Civil Service... behind doors in a safe place...Who gave her this dignity?...A dwarf on a Unicorn.. Dignity is earned at every JOB & every Task..."Because it's my JOB" is a song that captures dignity...
Interesting That Meghan Kelly was said to have been sexually harassed 10 years ago when she was in Washington. Roger Ailes offered her the "Jelly Beans" & she followed him to NYC and Fox News.... I think all the FOX staff know she is still following the Jelly bean trail..
