When The Clintons Do It, That Means That It’s Not Illegal

Associated Press;

More than half the people outside the government who met with Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state gave money — either personally or through companies or groups — to the Clinton Foundation. It’s an extraordinary proportion indicating her possible ethics challenges if elected president.
At least 85 of 154 people from private interests who met or had phone conversations scheduled with Clinton while she led the State Department donated to her family charity or pledged commitments to its international programs, according to a review of State Department calendars released so far to The Associated Press. Combined, the 85 donors contributed as much as $156 million. At least 40 donated more than $100,000 each, and 20 gave more than $1 million.

I’m sure you’re as shocked as I am. Actual investigative journalism? From Associated Press?

  1. Like you, the only surprise for me is that someone at the AP actually published this knowing what happens to people who cross the Clintons.

  2. Hillaryious should start a new reality show:
    “Pimp my Government!”
All the legislation, permits and government contracts money can buy!
    Cheers
    Hans Rupprecht, Commander in Chief
    1st Saint Nicolaas Army
    Army Group “True North”

  3. That’s not influence pedaling or in the words of one Jean Chretien.
“I was just doing my job like any good MP”

  4. Seems to me that the Clintons are as good at pay for play politics as any potentate, despot or Canadian Liberal Party member.
    How?
Is it possible that Slick Willy once met Wild Margaret and pumped her for Liberal Family secrets?
Could Babs have whispered PET’s important pillow talk in Shillery’s ear?
Did Fiona sing a little One Finger Ditty to the Hillbilly Hound?
Does the American Media have fetishistic envy for the complicit, complacent, compliant, small-penised, testicularless Canadian Media?
More questions than answers these days.

  5. Looks like the Clinton Democrats have taken the Liberal Ad-Scam policy and refined it. Now in America you can donate money to the Democrats with the tacit understanding that you will get rewarded when the Democrats are elected, whereas in Canada you only received the reward when the Liberals were already in power. It will be interesting to see the results if Clinton loses the election and the big spenders, sorry donors, are left out of the loop. Maybe Hillary and Bill aren’t as smart as the Chretien Liberals were, since the Liberals were playing with taxpayer money and the taxpayers are little people that don’t have any power. The Clinton donors were playing with their own money and I think more than a few of them have the ability to send out their own enforcers. Expect the Clinton cabal to pull all the stops in the next few weeks, because at this point they really do have everything to lose.

  6. Mark Twain once said that “America has the best government that money can buy.” Well over 100 years later, it is still for sale to the highest bidder. He also once said that “America has no natural criminal class, except for Congress.” That’s also (sadly) still true.

  7. The amount investigating that would be required to verify if bribes were paid for favours would take years. The Republicans, if they had any clue, would have set her up with a scandal but there were too busy chasing stupid Tea Party ideas.

  8. “… indicating her possible ethics challenges if elected president”
Ummm, it already is an ethics challenge, but AP says we’ll just have to cross that bridge once we get to it.

  9. I find it mildly amusing, but hugely aggravating that the Democraps, who fought tooth and nail to pass FOIA, laws, are ones doing anything and everything possible to obstruct it. The D-craps do everything possible to delay, slow-walk, hide, shred, create personal servers, invent pseudonym email accounts, etc. … all to HIDE from PUBLIC scrutiny. And this behavior is being advanced to the next level of technological espionage … witness the huge number of meetings between the White House/State Department and Google exec’s. It is going to take multiple perp-walks, long jail sentences, and Impeachments, to FORCE these corrupt politicians AND Agency operatives into the light of day. Sadly, they have been operating under cover of a dull-witted and disengaged public. If these corrupt pols are not brought to justice … then our nation is doomed. Democracy is DOOMED.

  10. busy chasing stupid Tea Party ideas.

  11. Gotta love it: “Clinton’s campaign said the AP analysis was flawed because it did not include in its calculations meetings with foreign diplomats or U.S. government officials, and the meetings AP examined covered only the first half of Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.”
Oh, how much did they contribute to the Clinton Foundation? So, it was only 33% of the meetings that yielded over $100million?
Then again maybe it was only $50million; that makes it completely different in Demland. Maybe the MSM are no longer amused?
Oh, and it was only the first half of her tenure as Sec of State, AP couldn’t check because she refused to provide those records btw.
She was probably just getting started, as is Julian Assange, who will appear on Fox tonight with Ms Kelly.
I’m sure Hillary and Bill aren’t concerned about Julian uncovering Hillary’s gun running instructions, I mean recipes or her consiglieri booking foundation meetings and payoffs, I mean wedding invitations and other “family” arrangements.
Politicians lack common sense, or are forced to jettison it, but she and Bill are doofuses, not realizing that emails can boomerang.
All correspondence should be written with that in mind, imho even blogging at sites like this. Assume it will all come to light.
The archetype establishment politician, further tainted by greed and corruption, in the year of the frustrated political insurgency, meets the revenge of pop politics, whose unholy alliance with a media who hates him has propelled him to the improbable heights of candidate for and possibly POTUS.
Hillary should have won this going away, and she may do so. If she loses, as her stalled momentum portends, it will be self-inflicted.
Her arrogance and stupidity seems to have caught up with her. How can she bluff her way to November when all will be well gain with victory, with infrequent appearances, no press conferences and somehow surviving three debates with the Donald, as Julian bleeds her?
Oh she can do it, we just don’t know how yet. Donald is all that’s left to stop her cabal of corrupt hypocrite globalists crushing liberty & prosperity.

  12. think of the money Trump could raise…using his business skills to sell access to the WH…er…donations…not…bribes..er…

  13. When the Clintons don’t think it’s illegal, then then it isn’t – go ahead and ask them. Then again, why take a chance:
“Clinton’s run-out-the-clock strategy ..Dems .. to ignore the email & Foundation controversies, seeing a shrinking calendar as her friend.”
“According to allies and operatives close to the campaign, Clinton’s team thinks “they can ride out” any negative reaction to a set of new emails that show Clinton Foundation officials trying to set up State Department meetings for donors during her tenure as the nation’s top diplomat.”
“That doesn’t mean no response,” one Clinton team insider said, “but a muted one rather than a five-alarm fire.” It’s a strategy borne, in part, of a belief held deeply by Clinton herself that the email controversy is a fake scandal and that voters are as sick of it as the candidate herself — and by the profound weaknesses of Clinton’s opponent.
They’re not even trying to make sense any more, just inane deflections and projections such as this from a demoralized James Carville:
“Why did no one care that Bob Dole was majority leader and his wife ran the Red Cross?” said Carville, blaming the extreme downsizing on public pressure and a double standard for anything Clinton-related. “Every columnist can take a great victory lap,” he fumed. “I will lay back and mourn for those who will die because they’re not going to get the vaccines they need. I guess at some point, politically, it probably makes sense — but I’m embarrassed to be around my children for saying they should do this.”
