I don’t have a tip, except that Willie looks healthier pre-heroin…. just sayin….
Thank you!
Fabulous voice always. Wow!
He has just a few years on me, and this old clip indeed reminds of how time slips away.
Thanks again.

You scared me there for a minute, thought maybe Willie had joined Merle and George in that bar in the sky.
Willie Nelson is one of the great country songwriters of all time.
But I have seen him that way. In fact I’ve seen a video of his tv show back in the 50s with, if memory serves a pantomime horse.
Re: Hello Walls.
That song really belongs to Faron Young. It was one of the top country hit songs in 1961. I can still hear it on the jukebox (one selection for a dime–3 for a quarter.) Willie looked a tad more ”clean cut” than he did later on.
Speaking of hit songs, Johnny Horton heated up the amplifier on a few Wurlitzer jukeboxes in his day. So tonight, on the 75th anniversary of the sinking of the German Warship ”Bismark,”
by the British Navy, (May 26-27, 1941) lets enjoy the victory. The song was released in 1960. https://youtu.be/M1Ufc2hI4FM
I listened to Mr. Harper’s farewell speech. This was my comment, that was immediately deleted.
” I’m looking at the comments section and wondering why it is that whenever Conservative supporters make similar references to Liberals, they have their words deleted. I have a Conservative friend who has copied and kept each and every ”deletion” he has had to endure over past 5 years, and I would estimate them to be in the 100s. I believe he has presented the topic on open line radio shows more than once. As for Mr. Harper’s resignation as an MP, I’m anxious to see if the Liberals will win the by election.”
Check out this comment that was allowed to stand.

”If history does not burn him at the stake, it will be kinder to him than he deserves.
Rather than found a new Party. he destroyed the proud heritage of the Progressive Conservatives and instead substituted an American Redneck philosophy adapted from Bush II and now known as Trumpism.
To be known as the Donald before there was a Trump will surely be his death knell.”
Plainzdrifter – I think the point is that Willie wrote each of the songs he sang. In fact, he even gave credit to Faron for making it a hit. Wille wrote many songs that were hits for other artists in his early days, trying to make a living in Nashville before moving back to Texas and helping to create the Outlaw Country genre.
Who would have guessed this was Willey Nelson
I’m not arguing that. And I do believe that Willy Nelson did a great job on the song.
Cool. ‘Funny How Time Slips Away’ is one of my all time favorites, no matter who sings it!
Was that the CBC? Figures. The farmer comment is interesting in that it mentions the PC’s. They are the absolute worst. Angry bunch of buzzards who do not get how they destroyed their own party. If it were up to them, we would have had Liberal governments forever. Their venom for Harper is completely misguided.
Was that the CBC that deleted your comments?
“progressive” conservatives were always liberal lite. there are very few real conservatives left in Canada.
Check out Willie Nelson singing “My Window Faces the South” on Youtube.
Great performance with killer backup from Ernest Tubbs’ band. Leon Rhodes just smokes it.
Well. Wild Rose country is starting to find out what happens when you elect a Not Democratic Politburo.
First.Nutly says Ft.Mac firms will be hired for the re-build. Nope. House clean-up goes to Ontario firm..http://globalnews.ca/news/2724654/alberta-says-fort-mcmurray-firms-to-get-preference-on-rebuilding-contracts/
The people there said they will not allow them into their homes without a court order.Good.
NOW she wants to sign a deal with the OntariOWE dyke to allow carbon cops into our homes to inspect them. Nope. Not mine, unless they have a warrant and a court order. Effing commies.
For you Willie Nelson fans, the PBS show American Masters is featuring The Highwaymen (Waylon and Willie and the boys) tonight. Check your local listings.
Thank you! This was a gem of a way to start the day 🙂 And what a voice! One could ask whether he was built for the genre or he built the genre; I’m inclined to say yes to both.
Actually, Alberta’s Bill 20 gives those authorities the power to enter and search without warning or warrant. It also allows them to seize records and computers.
Totalitarianism by any other name.
In future, I suppose, soldiers will win the VC for valiantly tweeting “Kumbaya” while facing the enemy.
Red Rachael wants to hire union contractors from Ontario ahead of Albertan’s. It’s how it’s done.
If we cannot find enough workers in Alberta then fine hire outside the province. But we have a lot of guys looking for work. Let’s hire th firstm
Time slips away: my favorite is by Billy Walker. This version was used in the opening of episode 1 season 2 of Better Call Saul.
Very poignant – for the very old anyway.
Reminds me: the last roundup is next April. Got to finish the truck. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTzQhr6AQdM
Where is the story of Wynnes smackdown by WildRose in the Alberta legislature? Its not getting any traction.
Yeah, maybe Paul can offer jobs on his CSL to our beloved First nations,if he can remember where the hell CSL is stationed currently.
I’ll give Paul Martin credit though, he scribbled an idea on a napkin while here in Kelowna, and thus we have had to live with that legendary proposal, ever after known by the naive and progressive as “The Kelowna Accord”, which was allegedly to solve the Native Issue, once and for all. What a man!
We Kelownians still detest him for that, and many of us have suggested, cynically, that all PM offered was more taxpayer’s money to be thrown in the direction of the FN Chiefs.
The FN Chiefs disagree with that assessment. Hm.

Paul Martin, still whining after all these years:
http://ipolitics.ca/2016/05/26/martin-conservative-mandatory-minimum-sentences-were-aimed-at-indigenous-canadians/
He still can’t get over the fact Canadians repudiated him and chose Stephen Harper to replace him. Is he ever going to keep his trap shut? Time to STFU, Paul Martin! If you’re really so concerned about the indigenous population, how about spending some of your own cash to help them?
But I have seen him that way. In fact I’ve seen a video of his tv show back in the 50s with, if memory serves a pantomime horse.

This flexibility in the trans gendered seems to spread to other venues if there’s a buck to be made.

EDMONTON — Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne came to Alberta to talk environment but instead found herself publicly ridiculed on the floor of the legislature as the leader of a failed, debt-ridden enterprise.

It’s clear we need a knife registry.
Why?
Because it’s 2016.

We already have knife registries in almost every bridal shop. That should cover the need adequately.
