Time for a new CDS, this one has no spine.
Why stop there? The Defence minister said that we should be negotiating with ISIS.
I’m sure there are foreign governments planning for decisive military victories right now.
Talk such as this invites military adventurism.
No decisive victories ONLY DECISIVE SURRENDERS!!!!
But you can only surrender unconditionally once!
Petain, or is Bazaine,rides again.
Yup , surrender – that will teach them – but we can give everyone a medal !
What’s that quote? “You may not be interested in war but war is interested in you.”
Trump rattles Globalists,Globalists pacify Trudeau and Obama.
The Obama and Trudeau apology tour continues.
…and if you get drawn into a war by an aggressive enemy defensive strategy just doesn’t cut it, it’s a loser. You must “hit the enemy as hard as you can as fast as you can when he isn’t looking”.
What do you expect from a man whose daddy was the former Army Commander? Vance got to become CDS much like Trudeau got to become PM. He was protected his whole career in the The Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR) by the “RCR Mafia”, in which his dad was a very big player…not to mention all the favours other high-ranking officers in the CAF had to his dad…all this guy had to do was not fµck up like Menard and he was gold. A quick glance at the names of today’s generals/colonels will be deja vu because many of the CAF elite are usually sons of former generals/admirals. The non-officer ranks tend to be merit-based…but once you get into the higher echelons of the officer corps you’ll start recognizing names because their fathers were all generals/colonels. Had Peter Worthington stayed in the military after the Korean War, chances are he would have retired as a high-ranking officer, since his dad was Canada’s “Father of the Armour Corps”.
Well with gutless politicians like Trudeau and Obama, of COURSE there will be no decisive victories. Where are the Pattons and the Norman Schwarzkopf’s when you need them?
This is getting very confusing.
The top priority has already been set by Shiny Pony as the Herculean
task of defeating “Climate Change” and his evil allies and followers.
Someone should send his nibs a copy of The Art Of War by Sun Tzu.
Do to the middle east what Allies did to Japan and Germany. Complete surrender after showing them who is boss.
Then rebuild that stone age backward part of the universe to become affluint productive members of the Human race…… Like Germany and Japan. Me thinks the average German and Japanese citizen is vastly better off today than they might be had Germans developed the bomb first.
They’ve read it…that’s why conservatives are getting their asses kicked and will lose the Canada which they grew up in. You believe they’re just stumbling along…but this “fight” started way back in the 1920s when the Progressives (Dewey) got hold of the US education system (which we in Canada started to copy soon thereafter).
Peacekeeping is something poor countries do to generate cash. That’s how the UN managed to kill ten of thousands of Haitians by introducing cholera brought by Napalese troops.
Peacekeepers are just as useless as when Canada did it seriously. The only thing Canada will provide with peacekeepers are targets and hostages.
Proving once again that being a LOSER is hard wired in Liberals.

Can’t wait for the big carton of “If You Kill Your Enemy They Win” medals for all the brass.
Canada has never decided its own fate militarily despite our relatively herculean effort in two World Wars. We have relied on the US to carry the ball since Korea. Most of the subsequent US-involved conflicts (all lacking coherent leadership and therefore precluding victory) were and are not worth getting involved in. We can’t defend ourselves without the US nuclear umbrella with NORAD. Obama has highlighted what we may face without that US protection by his deceit and kissing up to enemies like Iran. The Spawn is not much different than Obama but without a significant military is even thankfully more impotent. Independent military direction would necessarily mean our own nuclear deterrent but we would have to become an adult nation for that to transpire. The ME is a bottomless vortex that will suck blood and treasure out of any nation trying to manage it while the Jihad enters your nation by the front door.
So what he’s really saying is that Canadians better get used to the idea that more Canadian soldiers are going to die doing some useless mission in some foreign craphole just so that some politician can make a few points and feel good, but that no politician has the will to finish or courage to win.
Everyone just take a deep breath. The Great War for Civilization, and the ugly squabble which followed 20 years later, were wars of national survival, or an existential question for Canada. Every shooting war since have been conflicts of choice for Canada. I believe what the CDS is acknowledging and which is borne out by Future Security Environment, is that it is very unlikely that Canada will become involved again in total war, one which decisive military victories determine the winner.
I just can’t wait for his next speech. When he brings up diversity and inclusiveness.

Quite right, unlikely that we will ever be involved in a global scenario resembling WW1 or WW2 (note that WW2 progressed from WW1 to having a lot more terrible urban battles in and around major cities, also note that Verdun, a WW1 city battle, cost millions of lives) but a civil war in the European Union or Israel defending itself against an imminent existential threat (both triggered by political Islam) could result in Canada having to mobilize a substantial force and could even lead to the biggest internal “War Measures Act” situation this country’s ever seen. Think I’m imaginative or exaggerating? Then you don’t understand history or political Islam. Clearing occupied cities is a big part of the terrible military future and Canada definitely will not have all the resources to do that. Note also that a future Canada that is much poorer (very much poorer) with (a) a socialist totalitarian government and (b) hordes of idle military-age men (not too a radical forecast) will be fundamentally different from our current first-world smug status.
“I believe what the CDS is acknowledging and which is borne out by Future Security Environment, is that it is very unlikely that Canada will become involved again in total war, …”
And I believe what the CDS is acknowledging, and which is borne out by the recent history of all Liberal/turdo Governments, is that our Army, Navy, and Air Force are about to get castrated. That’s all.
Justin Time Delivery. We’re fast but the boxes are empty.
telling the opponents before the conflict is even a possibility, that you have no intention of winning. invites adventurism. almost as bad was CartoonHarrpoon’s announcement of the withdrawal date from Afghanistan. let them know how long to hold their positions until you abandon the locals.
brilliant strategies by politishuns.
Turdeau 1.0 detested the Cdn military. during the debarkation from ports in Montreal, he donned a WW I GERMAN helmet (with the pointy top) and zoomed around the streets on a motorcycle. I hated the man before he was first elected and hated him more after. the only thing he did to benefit me was drop the voting age which affected only a single election.
too bad CartoonHarpoon was such a control freak whose method of dealing with critics, inspectors, ombudsmen, nuclear regulatory personnel (remember that one?) was to FIRE them. typical conservatist, surround himself with piles of sycophants and yes men. THAT is why HE got the boot.
I wonder why I had to cut that one in 2 to get past the filter.
Q: Where are our great Conservative leaders to educate this country of it’s own heroic fighting past?
A: There are none.
My understanding is that throughout the 20th century, including two World Wars, Canadian soldiers killed more of the enemy, per capita, than any other nation on this planet. That is simply stunning and awe-inspiring on how our veterans consistently punched above their weight. I believe that claim was put forth by General Hillier, before the media poo-pooed the evilness of his words and returned to rewriting our history as strictly peacekeepers.
I am sick and tired of the left’s delusional “playing house” with our very security and way of life in a veerrry dangerous world.
Peacekeeping ,again! I knew guy who was with the Canadian Airborne, stationed in Gaza during the 70’s. He said the Canadian Forces were the worst equipped of any of the UN sponsored Forces there.
He said they’d patrol in their under-armed APC, only one light machine gun, and pray that no one took a shot at them.
Don’t complain too much about the new CDS,they might decide to replace him with Liberal war hero Romeo Dallaire.
“Canadians need to accept … blah blah blah”
Or we could just kill our enemies. Foreign and domestic.
One thing about it, we have the Boy Scouts for back up and the Girl Guides in reserve. If that fails unconditional surrender always works.
I hope they make flak jackets with the Kevlar to the back and a white flag sewn on the surface.
The Liberal Logo is in the RH pocket Trudeau, you can wipe your ass with it!
Someone send him a white feather.
