Yesterday they were on about Jack’s web site where he used legitimate quotes but stock photos (very commonly done by media) and fictitious names. In a small community you do not necessarily want your name attached to help received from your MPP. The Citizen and the Post tried to turn this into the crime of the century — never explaining that the quotes were legitimate. This was another attempt by the media to smear a Conservative.
Why exactly did the reporter spend all this time trying to dig up dirt on McLaren’s website. Is he investigating every Ontario MPP, or exploiting the situation because of a social faux pas. Is nothing newsworthy happening in the Ontario government? Instead the media needs to investigate private function jokes from yesteryear? How much time was invested in digging up those old jokes? This is what passes for investigative reporting these days. Well, the press clearly needs a new Conservative whipping boy and I suppose some are hoping Jack is it.
