Debbie does her damnedest to avoid answering because focus group polling has likely found an historical aversion to the term “socialist” in older demographics even though the Dems are now fully invested in socialism (and or fascism). The Dems, in terms of Canadian equivalence would now comprise most of the LPC, the Greens, and the NDP.

So, stating the obvious, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has essentially admitted that there is no difference between a Democrat and a Socialist.
Now, the question is this: Is that Democrat an International Socialist or a National Socialist?
A socialist is a dirty, lying, nasty thieving beast that kills human initiative and rewards sloth by stealing from the productive members of society. They steal not only money and other forms of wealth, but they also steal the collective past memories and cultural mores of a people. When push comes to shove, the nasty thieving beast will kill human beings too, if they get in the socialists’ way.
The democrat is a whore that will sell his or her country down the river to appease their base, which is generally seen to be itself socialist, unproductive, lazy and shiftless, masquerading under the banner of “justice”. But because the politics of the democrat appeals to lazy,useless unproductive people, they are successful, because this is a very large segment of the population.
Joni Mitchell, in a retrospective interview talked about the culture that she moved in back in the ’60’s. She did not express admiration for that set of people in later life. She said “Frank Sinatra called us ‘bums'”, and she meant it not as a criticism of Frank Sinatra.
coue is right. Matthews is a disease. Wasserman actually did better in that interview than she usually does. And she’s right; Sanders is a candidate for their nomination and he should be part of the convention.
Matthews is also making the presumption that Clinton is going to win. That’s not nearly so certain after last night. A near dead-heat despite the enormous size of Clinton’s electoral machine and gigantic early lead last year. Methinks the constant drip of bad news regarding Hilary is starting to have an effect on Democrat voters. Perhaps they would prefer an out and out socialist over utter corruption. If she tanks in New Hampshire, the knives will be out.

I don’t know why anyone, Dem or Rep, would agree to be interviewed by Matthews. Challenging questions are fine, but if you are not allowed to answer then it’s a lot of irritation for no purpose.
I think the difference is that a socialist won’t admit (perhaps even to themselves) that they are working to institute communism (i.e. cannibalism) and a Democrat won’t admit that they are trying to use socialist ideas and policies to get votes and as a result have been taken over by socialists.

Chris, you appear to be using the word “Socialism” as some old-fashioned, right-wing pejorative term. We in the Democrat party don’t express our progressivism in archaic oft-misunderstood terms. We prefer to call our brand of progressive values “Santaism”. Much like the jolly old resident of the North Pole, we in the Democrat party … promise to fulfill your EVERY WISH. All we ask in return is that all Americans be good little boys and girls. The IRS is keeping a list of who is naughty and who is nice … and will USE it. So long as you are not racist, sexist, homophobic, and promise to NEVER commit micro aggressions against the most frail among us … you will GET loads of FREE STUFF. But all this FREE STUFF doesn’t create itself … so we will need to make your mommies and daddies PAY LOTS OF MONEY to support the government elves. Bernie, like Trump, has the temerity to state what he believes. Bernie believes government needs to be even bigger, certainly more intrusive with crippling taxation to keep the rich from getting richer but making the poor poorer, which is OK with this soviet minded man. Trump believes government needs to get out of the way, while also willing to fund big ideas like national healthcare and unique ideas about making other countries paying for his policies, whether it be oil in Iraq or the cost of a Mexican wall.
He also believes the US must again be the strong horse, on trade, on security and on judgment. They’re dynamite to the establishments of both parties. Rubio had probably made his strongest showing and only he believes he can beat Hillary Clinton.
Who would be the greater danger as POTUS? Trick question – Clinton would be with her foundation hangers on seeking payback as she adopts the see or hear no evil of the deer in the headlights Obama debacle including the co-mingling of the lethal errors around the Benghazi affair, while no doubt ducking ongoing investigations.
