The leaders of Communist China lie awake at night worrying about creating 10 million new jobs every year to prevent a revolution. The elected leader of the U.S. lies awake every night thinking about jobs making . . . windmills and solar panels.
And we’ve got a revolution.
People wonder what accounts for the rise of Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. Maybe the better question is how the Obama years could not have produced a Trump and Sanders

Have to disagree with Daniel. The economy under Trump would have to do better than under the super socialist Sanders.
What Daniel is really saying is it doesn’t matter who is elected and that is complete and utter BS.
China makes many of the wind turbines (which use rare earth metals mined under the most hazardous conditions on earth) and solar panels which they can sell to the suckers, I mean developed nations. There, problem solved. Win/win, right? No?
No problem with socialists, they just pile on bigger and bigger government until voila, we have dictatorships that get things done, budgets than balance themselves and warlords who leave us alone because we are nice to them.
The spontaneous order of true liberalism (not the b.s. Grit, Dem & GOP versions, the real stuff of Adam Smith and Thomas Jefferson) is anarchy to these fools who must control us all through the dictatorship of the proletariat where they’re supposed to eventually (aka never) give up their cushy phony baloney jobs to be just like the other comrades. Do you like that fable, here’s a couple others: weather is climate and it’s always bad and human caused; and, governments create jobs and wealth (when actually they destroy both for their statist ends).
Marxists in $5000 suits, trying to ensure they run out of other people’s money to prove their system works. Without freedom or prosperity, but it works for them. So shut up, as they explain, as Kate often quotes. The mediocracy? The plutocrats don’t need them either.
“No vacancies for media at Liberals’ cabinet retreat. No room at the inn? Well, there’s room, but the welcome mat is not out. The Liberals have block-booked a swish New Brunswick resort hotel for a cabinet retreat and dispatched reporters to two other places in town so Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his ministers can meet and mingle in private. From Sunday to Tuesday Trudeau will meet with 30 cabinet members at St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, about an hour and a half from Saint John. Along with RCMP security staff and other aides in tow, they will occupy only about 70 of 233 rooms at the Algonquin Resort, a newly refurbished Marriott group hotel. However, media are barred from booking any of the other vacant rooms at the request of the Privy Council Office, the Star has learned. It’s a strange move by a government that promised relations with reporters would be different from the restricted access and tight message control of.” Now that the election is over I’m sure these unethical fools are quite dismayed by the lack of transparency. We’re (actually southern ON) the fools.

“People wonder what accounts for the rise of Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. Maybe the better question is how the Obama years could not have produced a Trump and Sanders”
In my opinion economic woes have led to the increase in the ideological polarization of the American people. This is similar in some ways to the economic woes and political polarization of the German people in the 1920s, particularly after 1929, between Thalman’s Communists and Hitler’s Nazis.
The American people have suffered one hit after another. First the dotcom collapse, the mortgage fiasco in 2008, and the loss of middle class jobs to China, Mexico, and elsewhere. No doubt I missed one or more hits. Obama did nothing to alleviate the economic woes and in fact exacerbated them with stupid earth muffin policies, all the while doing his best to bring in Alinsky’s and Ayer’s brand of communism.
Shamrock, well said.
Ken, I wish that people would call Hitler’s party by its full name which wasn’t the Nazi party, but the National Socialist Party. There are socialist parties in our country with the same objectives and they do all that they can to distance themselves from this fact but their odor reminds us of that time in our history.
But, but…the economy is in great shape; just ask our President and his teleprompter supporters.
Parasites Rule.
Kleptocracy destroys economic security, growth and civil society.
We have Trump and Sanders because the fools and bandits have always surrendered the rights of the productive citizens to the demands of the lazy and greedy takers.
Civilization is doomed when government refuses to uphold the basic rules.
Property rights, law and equality before those laws.
Protect the nations turf.(Borders)
Our governing elites act to destroy each of these, they are the blind worms gnawing at the foundations.
And their numbers have grown exponentially in the past 3 decades.
50% of your labour goes to support their demands.
The cost of government has massively exceeded the financial benefit of civilization.
And our “protectors” have served notice that taxpayers are not important to them, they prefer their criminal and political clients.
I know and agree, and just used the short form for speed purposes.
“Maybe the better question is how the Obama years could not have produced a Trump and Sanders”
It produced neither of these men.
It just made their candidacy possible mainly because there isn’t a George Washington, a Thomas Jefferson, or a Ronald Reagan to choose in their stead.
I still think Trump is a Stalking Horse for the Left and an elitist establishment man to boot, too.
