Liberal legalese...

"The agreement will be legally binding and it will have, as part of that, countries will be legally bound to provide targets. The actual target that each country provides will not be legally binding, likely, because that is the difficulty with many countries, including the United States," she added.

"It's really important that we have everyone at the table and come up with an agreement."

And a good time is had by all. They all get a turn at blowing smoke up one another's a$$. Some great accomplishments gonna come outa that for certain. Supremely asinine double-speak mean-nothing subterfuge.

That's it!!!!! Take money from poor people in rich countries and give it to rich people in poor countries, brilliant.
Hopefully Trudeau will give the keys to his trust fund to the Warm-Mongers.
Ba---rds!

More reasons america need to totaly pull out of the United Nations its treaties are all anti-constituional leftists lies we need to also tear up all those other UN treaties and evict the UN from america

Nothing beats going offshore for some strange sex.

Best cure for the winter blahhs....... EVAH!!

"The actual target that each country provides will not be legally binding,"

But regardless of being able to achieve targets, a participation trophy will be awarded to all.
And having been zealous participants in the social action, regardless of result, they will have proven to be Liberals in good standing, they will be seen and not have to be culled from the Herd.

tall poppies must be cut off...crabs cannot be allowed to escape the bucket...the nail which stands up must be hammered down

And she wasn't chosen for cabinet because she a woman.Nope, she was chosen because she is SMART!!!

That appeared to be someone talking in circles...

Canada sent 400 delegates at an average of 165 lbs to the Paris Climate Party.
That equates to 3 tonnes. With a carbon tax of $30 /tonne, that's $90 dollars worth.
So how did we manage to lose $2.65 billion?

The Spawn was given kudos for stepping up to the plate and destroying wealth just like the rest of the progressive world class looters and thugs. He's a big boy now. Last one to hit the crackers gets Kathleen Wynne for the night! Don't worry about the mess, the media eunuchs will lap it up.

If an agreement is not legally binding, yet Justin passes laws to support the agreement, will I notice the difference ?

What's this, Kyoto revisited? A gathering of great pretenders of the cause du jour, stopping the climate from changing? If it's anything like the Kyoto Accord nothing will come of it, it will be another anti-climatic farce.

But if they do come up with an agreement they won't all get to jet off on another all expenses paid trip to an exotic locale next year to try and reach an agreement. They'll have to slum it and find real jobs.

More useful idiots demonstrating in Ottawa. The left is becoming embarrassing. Someone should alert them to how foolish they look.

They're fighting for the right to freeze in the dark which is almost a sure thing in Wynne's Ontario right now anyway.

"But Andrew Weaver, who once shared a Nobel Peace Prize for his work with the United Nations on the climate-change challenge,..."

Sure. If you call up the Nobel Academy they will all have heard of Weaver and his "shared" prize. Just like ol' Doctor Limp-stick Mann.

Journalism: old Cree word for "cut and paste press release".

Regarding the related link - heard on the radio yesterday that the mayor of Kitchener is wasting taxpayers money this week by going to Paris. Also related, heard this morning on the radio that Kitchener is facing a bill @ 3x the budget for expenses related to construction of the new light rail line. (Costs of moving underground services like gas lines) Maybe if he cancelled his trip he could pay to relocate at least one pipe.

Someone should tell the meatballs in the media to read the stupid thing before going into hysterics about how great it is.

Have they voted themselves another Nobel Peace Prize?
Oh, wait, that is decided by some other group of demented Euro-weenie leftists.

There will be a future after this is passed, the Liberals won't be in power forever. It won't be the first time that a treaty is abrogated.

Have they voted themselves another Nobel Peace Prize?

"If an agreement is not legally binding, yet Justin passes laws to support the agreement, will I notice the difference?"

wallyj, all that circumlocution about "legally binding" is simply a way of obfuscating the obvious: you can't legally enforce such an agreement above the level of the nation state.* Who will arrest Nigeria if it doesn't meet its targets?

The bad news for you and me is that our country will be busy tying itself in knots with expensive laws and controls to meet "targets" while other countries will do whatever they like, up to and including, er, absolutely nothing.

* Well, actually there is. But it involves invading, occupying and forcing your will on the country in question.

How much of a CO2 bonus do northern governments get for each citizen who stops breathing during a cold winter? All of that CO2 that will never be exhaled has to have a value for their government, right?

All of the above and frs, exactly.

The fraud of climate change is only the public face of what is really being worked at at Paris. It is all about nations giving up more of their sovereignty to the UN. The ramping up of hysteria with fear tactics is used to make the people more malleable to the idea. Most of us here know that the arch totalitarian villain in establishing this idea of working toward a global government was Uncle Mo Strong.

Make no mistake, they are trying to accomplish what Trotsky and Stalin failed in doing.

Catherine McKenna, Climate Change Minister: "To be clear, this agreement does have to be legally binding, but there may be aspects of it that won’t be legally binding. ... The agreement will be legally binding and it will have, as part of that, countries will be legally bound to provide targets. The actual target that each country provides will not be legally binding, likely, because that is the difficulty with many countries, including the United States."

"Is everyone clear about that?"

There is no such thing as "international law", only treaties between consenting partied. The only enforcement mechanism in "international law" are national armies. Obomber cannot sign a treaty without the OK of Congress. Not even the Liberals will sign anything meaningful as their backers are still wealthy international business people such as Power Corp, SNC-Lavalin, etc.

Yes, and the gibberish from Catherine McKenna on this silly gathering to shoot off hot air and carbon tells us it's a waste of time, much ado about nothing.

Bill Gates looks like an idiot among the the stooges.

progressive world class looters and thugs

Good phrase, I'll keep that.

I have been sitting in on meetings the last couple weeks with renewable energy companies from outside Canada who are chomping at the bit to get into Alberta. The saddest thing about all the meetings is that these guys will tell you straight up that none of their projects can possibly make any money without government tax credits and subsidies. We were told that they have zero interest in doing anything in Alberta until they are guaranteed the tax credits, etc. cause their business model doesn't work otherwise.

At the same time, all of these project are going to be run out of London, New York, Toronto, etc. by bankers, lawyers, accountants, business guys and project people who don't contribute anything to the province. None of these companies have any connection to Alberta whatsoever.

All of the Albertans in the room were just shaking our heads. We are destroying our province.

"At the end of the day, it is a moral obligation these countries have to do what they say they were going to do,”

The "early" crony Capitalists have made their money and now want out, they need a "New" herd to purchase all the worthless 1980's technology... After 2016 Trump will sell Canada all the Windmills & solar Panels they think they must have....Russia, China, India, Brazil will laugh themselves silly

The Green indoctrination of the children is what the UN hopes will reap a world government through incremental change ... It's the "Moral" Green Thing.

My concern is how a country like Canada can ever become industrialized. We produce so much carbon just staying alive and for transportation. Then we bring in people from broken societies in the tropics multiplying their CO2 production 100 times.

Then they take a pre-industrialized country like India and tell them that their brown asses are going to be pre-industrialized forever. Europe, the US, and China get to enjoy the cheap CO2 producing energy while India and Africa are to be denied future wealth. Maybe for a treat they can catch a nice fat rat.

Send Catherine McKenna to Explain all trade bills, particularly the E U trade agreement WE will sign but you must understand, Then transfer her explanations ! Her explanation must be set up to be used in all agreements with a click of the mouse. It definitely clarifies most of Justin's utterances.

Itis obvious that Trudeau's plan of NO Targets and to off load the responsibility to the Provinces, didn't get very far However He didn't come back with His "I am the World Leader," although B C 's Premier boasted that due to our Carbon Tax that BC was the world Leader. The only way a carbon tax reduces emissions is it makes driving more expensive. The people hit the hardest is the working family in northern towns who must drive a truck to get to work on unplowed roads, drive to get supplies, and use oil to heat their homes.( Electric heat is too costly. ) They are not eligible for deductions similar to deductions for business persons using their Cars. For Revenue be honest; Raise Income tax, and not sneaky "fees, taxes on taxes, and Carbon taxes."
