The Sound Of Settled Science

The story of the day is Peter Whoriskey's meticulously reported tale of whole milk -- demonized for decades, accused of harboring killer fats, but on closer analysis not actually bad for us. In fact, studies suggest that people who drink whole milk appear to have lower rates of heart disease than people who drink low-fat or skim milk.

I refuse to drink that watered down crap they call milk. Whole milk is the only kind I've ever drank and at 70 yrs old the old ticker is still in good shape.

And butter. Real butter! Delicious on everything!

And butter. Real butter! Delicious on everything!

Beer,- I heard no mention of beer being the perfect nutritional food - this guy is a quack!

In a little over 48 hours we can all watch the polls as they bring in results of Harper's loss.

I would also submit lower rates of depression... personal experience, anecdotal evidence.

Goat's milk is 4% fat instead of that weak 3.5% for cow's milk.

My favourite is unwhipped whipping cream all over the cereal.

So you take a guy's food, remove 70% of the natural and nutritional value of it, and say it's a good thing?
"Nutritionists" are the same as the UN. If they say don't do it, double down on it and use twice as much.

I think your goat's milk has gone sour...

Cheers

We consume at least 2 gallons(8litres) of whole milk per week and maybe 2+ litres of whipping cream(no sugar) in our coffee at my house.
(we have 5 of the gallon whole milk jugs in our 2 fridges right now, we'll be through them right smart)

Tonight we're having some sour cream with our home fried potato(Yukon gold) wedges cooked in peanut oil and a dash of sesame oil(seasoned with chili spice, salt pepper, and dill) with the slow cooker roast beef.(inside round cut, no vegies, ...I'm personally having a BC Delicious apple for dessert)

Breakfast was farmer's sausage, gouda cheese, asiago cheese, and cheddar cheese with coffee and a pint of whole milk.
I drank another 2 pints of whole milk during the day. Then when I segued to shots of spiced rhum(overproof) this evening I used another pint of whole milk as the chaser.

As always, my Olde English Bulldogge smells the rhum and insists on an extended game of tug, which ...as a bulldog he excels at.

Now we're all tired, happy, and soon to be well fed.(as of this writing my wife says the taters are fried, which is the dinner bell, TTFN)

Harper's sure is! Salutes Klinger

Mr Mem: You have it wrong PM Harper will win!

At best he wins a minority. First confidence vote he is out and with the NDP or Libs form gov't with the others support.

If you don't play well with others don't expect them to play well with you.

If Harper gets a minority, I'd settle for that. Maybe he would be quickly ousted -- maybe not. You never know what the future holds.

"First confidence vote he is out"

That isn't how it works. First confidence vote that fails, it'll be a new election. People might be watching the stock markets to see how they react to a Harper minority and then a failing confidence vote.

Tell me, Mr Mem, what is it that you think the stock markets will like about either Mulcair or Trudeau winning?
What exactly have either said that would encourage private investment?

We seem to have strayed a bit from the milk topic. I think different people react differently to milk. I quite dislike milk. But I do eat a lot if cheese, find cream very good, butter yum. Straight milk - ugh. I did read once that milk leeches calcium from your bones. I would like to know mire about that.

If he loses the Throne Speech which is a confidence vote then the GG goes to the next largest party and gives them a kick at the can if it is just after an election.

As for your concern about the stock markets they do three times as well under libs than cons.

Hey you guys, quit feeding the leftist bag of...!

Here is a nice photo of Harps hanging with a drug addict, liar and guy who spends time with criminal gang members.

I grew up drinking raw milk. I know how to milk a cow. Whole milk for me.

When I go to the grocery store I buy food, not some low calorie crap that has all the flavour removed. Decaf coffee? I boil ground beans in water on the stove just like Cowboy Bob. Butter on my toast and when I shoot geese I render down the fat to cook in.

lol what is he going to do...can't wait forever. If Harps wants to pull the band-aid off slowly fine...it just hurts more but it'll be funny to watch!

According to the California-based Adventist Health study (Dr C B Esselstyn Jr, 2001) researchers found that those who consumed dairy products had a significantly higher incidence of type 2 diebetes, hypertension, high cholesteral, and more fatal heart disease than those who excluded all animal and dairy products from their diet.

MR? Mem is a troll. ignore it

I wish you would

Oz, how many hungry mouths are you feeding?
(You're makin' me HONGRY..:)

The people voting for Turdeau and Mulchair don't care about the stock market. Most of them have no idea what a actual market crisis can mean.

This situation is a damning comment about how poorly the Harper government has been educating
the citizens of this country. They did not even explain the significance of the free trade deals signed with the EU and TPP. It makes me wonder who is actually running their campaign.

If the Harper government is defeated I can see the conservative unity across Canada quickly
collapsing. Eastern Canada wants a eastern PM no matter what the consequences. Baird is the
only eastern conservative I could support. I do expect Kenney and Moore to resurface as
candidates.

You have a marxist troll problem here. The liberal party and their public sector union cronies have increased their astroturf budgets...

Trouble is our Marxist troll will be gone when Harper wins so we can't ridicule him. A couple percent change in Ontario will do the trick and traditionally Liberals have a hard time finding the polling station.
