Best Canadian Blog
2004 - 2007
Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Their really big lie is 1946: there were Jewish settlements all throughout “Palestine” and the area was not governed by “Palestinians”. Once that is established, the rest follows.
This is just standard operating procedure for the Lugenpresse.
The Israelis should just start killing the arabs, throw pig blood on the muslims and just go to town on them driving them back into Jordan and claiming all of Gaza and the West Bank. The left hate the Jews anyway so in for a penny in for a pound.
Next rocket attacks from Gaza:
Start buldozing buildings, and head to the sea.
Give them lots of time to leave on ships, and keep going til you hit water.
A year or two ought to do it.
There’s also an apples-and-oranges approach to these duplicitous maps, mixing private ownership of land with national territory. Before 1948, there was neither Arab nor Jewish “territory” in Mandate Palestine, only Jewish- or Arab-owned land, an entirely different thing* (and that map with the label “UN PLAN 1947” is particularly disingenuous; Israel did not even exist until 1948).
The territory of Palestine never, ever belonged to the Palestinians (whether Arabs or Jews!) for the simple reason that until 1948, it had either been part of somebody else’s empire or, from 1920 to 1948, held as a mandate by the British.
By the way, the Palestinians never “owned” the West Bank either until quite recently. In 1948, Jordan occupied the territory. Although the Israelis captured the West Bank in the 1967 Six Day War, Jordan didn’t relinquish its claim until 1988.
* If I bought a big ranch in Wyoming, it would not mean that my land was now somehow part of Canada.
“The 24-hour news network used a map commonly used by Palestinian propaganda groups.”
Um… isn’t MSNMC pretty much a “Palestinian propaganda group”?
“Palestine” was administered by the British after the Turks were pushed out after several centuries(800 yrs?)of occupation, and included all of what is now Israel and Jordan. Both Arab and Jews clamoured for a homeland to be established. The Arabs got theirs (Jordan)in 1927(?) but anti-sematic attitudes meant the remainder which was supposed to go to the Jews never did. Only after they forced the issue did they get it, but large portions were carved out for the “Palestinians”, creating the conflict that continues to this day.
The region of Palestine was part of the Ottoman Empire for 400 years.
Note I wrote “region” there. Under the Ottomans, there was no subsidiary “vilayet” (province) known as Palestine; the region was divided between a couple of vilayets. The modern boundaries of Palestine were established by the British Mandate.
The conflict was created by just about everyone: the British, the UN, the Palestinian Arabs, the Palestinian Jews and the neighbouring Arab states. After WWII, it was clear the Palestinian Jews weren’t going to settle for anything less than independence as Eretz Israel and the Palestinian Arabs were going to oppose them.
I doubt King Solomon himself could have resolved the issue peacefully.
