    Nope. Nablus was never called Naples; it was Neapolis (“nea polis”, Greek for “new city”), The name was gradually Arabized over the centuries – much the same way the Neapolis of Ancient Italy became “Napoli” in Italian and “Naples” in English.

    In Arabic, Palestine begins with an f-sound (“Filastin/filistin”). During the British Mandate, the inhabitants were all referred to as Palestinians, and as Jewish Palestinians/Palestinian Jews or Arab Palestinians/Palestinian Arabs when the administrative need arose to further define ethnicity. After Israel was established in 1948, Jewish Palestinians became Israelis. Arab Palestinians eventually became simply “Palestinians” (a good number became “Arab Israelis” too).
    The Palestinians have as much right to be in Palestine as the Israelis do to be in Israel, so forget the “native” nonsense.

    The Romans renamed the land to disconnect the Jews and Jewish history from it; that anyone thinks the so-called “Palestinians” have any claim whatsoever merely reinforces the ethnic cleansing of Jews the Romans began 2000 years ago; the end result is the same in that it seeks to erase the Jews which is why the so-called “Palestinians” never show a geopolitical entity called “Israel” in their textbooks or on any of their maps.
