Oh, Shiny Pony!

Global News;

The Liberals say Justin Trudeau’s national campaign co-chair did not break any ethical standards when he sent a detailed email Monday to people behind the Energy East pipeline with advice on how and when to lobby a new government – including if it happened to be a Liberal minority.
In the email, Dan Gagnier tells five people at TransCanada Corp. to target the right people in a new government as quickly as possible so they can help shape either Liberal or NDP decisions on a national energy strategy.

The completely ethical Gagnier has “decided to take a step back from my responsibilities” to the Libranos campaign.

50 Replies to “Oh, Shiny Pony!”

  1. The corruption, it runs deep with these ones. They have learned nothing from when they were last tossed out of power. Liberal. Not even once.

  2. Sure, just like his $150 Million BRIBE to CBC doesn’t break any “ethical standards”, at least none that apply to the LIBERAL party!

  3. Shouldn’t it say: In the email, Dan Gagnier tells five people at TransCanada Corp. to target the right people when making donations to the liberal party as quickly as possible.
BTW I know people who were told during the tenure of the cretin lieberals that donations to the lieberal party would result in Business Development assistance applications being given more favorable consideration. Expect more of the same if the party of turdeau the lesser gets in.

  4. The Liberals have really shown their arrogance. From Wynne’s interference to inappropriate lobbying by the party co-chief, to the absolute dishonest nonsense about revoking citizenship as noted here today. What should we expect though, when Grits misrepresent everything about Canada and get a pass from our unprofessional and unethical mediocracy.
Someone should tell the Grits and their fellow socialist travelers they should actually get elected before proceeding with their statist takeover. Their arrogance is now on full display to the voter, except for our mediocracy who’s theme is “if it isn’t a Tory, there’s no story.” I hope the voter notices in spite of their mediocracy defense team, aka CBC & CTV to name a few.
Then at SDA some idiot named Dave says Harper is bribing families with “our money.” Get real dweeb, government has no wealth, it lives off the taxpayers, who are only getting some of their own money back. It’s not your money dipstick!!
If by some off chance Harper prevails in majority, as happened in the UK, I hope Mr Harper churns and burns the mediocracy, especially the CBC whom he should defund asap, because they put their own professional and political aspirations ahead of “what Canadians want.” Very disgraceful performance indeed. The strangest part is nobody watches their crap anymore.
YES OT, BUT GO JAYS GO, GO JAYS GO! EASILY THE MOST INTENSE AND UNUSUAL GAME I’VE EVER SEEN IN MY MANY YEARS OF WATCHING BASEBALL AND ESPECIALLY THE JAYS. FROM THE WEIRD DEFLECTION THROW, TO THE THREE ERROR MELTDOWN BY THE RANGERS INFIELD IN THAT WILD 7TH INNING, TO THE MAN ON A MISSION JOSE BAUTISTA’S CRUSHING HOME RUN. THE JAYS SHOWED THEIR METTLE TODAY, WHILE THE RANGERS WILTED UNDER THE PRESSURE.
TORONTO FANS ARE POLITICAL IDIOTS BUT GREAT SPORTS FANS!!!

  5. Professional sports is opiates for the masses. it is not real. It is fabricated drama. Its original reality TV designed to get you emotionally invested in a group of men WHO DO NOT KNOW YOU OR CARE ONE BIT ABOUT YOU! SO WHY CARE ABOUT THEM??????
Invest your time instead in yourself, your family, your friends and your community and your emotional rewards will be paid back 10 fold over what you invest in a stupid game OWNED BY BIG MEDIA. The same media that tries to own the rest of your life by controlling your thoughts and opinions.
    Rant off.

  6. One can “Invest your time instead in yourself, your family, your friends and your community” and still enjoy a good game of baseball.
Oh and by the way …. it is not fabricated drama.

  7. Yep the party of long time elites who are so used to telling other people what to do that it is just instinct. And the two other parties like to call Harper controlling,Jr. Trudeau’s true character will begin to emerge when he begins to channel his father’s contempt for the west shortly after the election is over. Where do I sign up for the western separation party?
My pessimistic side says to go to bed early Monday evening and hope the asteroid comes before I wake up on Tuesday.

  8. Lecce dismissed Trudeau and the Liberals as “a party run by elite insiders who sell their influence to the highest bidder to the detriment of taxpayers.”
    Which it is. What’s new?
I was talking to a Franco-Ontarian today who was voting Liberal because he thought Justin would be just like his dad, as if that was a good thing! Perhaps he might be like his mother.

  9. No this isn’t a Toronto team, it is Canada’s team,. unfortunately located in Toronto.

  10. That us EXACTLY how they operated under Chretien. I can verify that also. Justin’s squeaky clean image is being used to lure support, but it’s the same old Liberals at the trough.

  11. I’m with you MMG. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think there’s many players that are actually Canadian let alone Torontonian. No startling revelation there of course. That said, if people enjoy it, and it doesn’t bankrupt them to watch a game, then knock yourself out I guess. I don’t know whether it is Keynesian to say that it stimulates the local eonomy. Arguable I suggest. One thing that annoys me is the public financing. The owners and players receive a good stipend from “the peoples’ money” but still, it keeps a lot of people happy. Geez, I’m sounding wishy-washy like a liberal. The end must be drawing near.

  12. The Liberals think they are the government in waiting and the Laurentian Elite are already celebrating.

  13. Some tend to think of the LPCers as ideological socialists akin to the Dips. But they do have a sleazy corporate side, particularly with the banks and railways. Think of the government of Indonesia but with a thick layer of camouflaging moral superiority. After all, pipelines are a capital intensive business which will be big in coming years.
At any rate, one would think the Liberals would to wait till they were actually in office before jockeying to plunge their pink little snouts into the trough.
    But one would be wrong.
Busy busy busy slurp slurp slurp . . .

  14. Russell Martin and Dalton Pompey would strongly argue your point. Google them!
Don’t talk baseball if you don’t know baseball.

  15. ”My gosh, they haven’t won yet and they’re already dividing the spoils.”
Hey, c’mon, the only reason they’re RSVPing future lobbyists is because the Conservatives are mean:

…the Liberal party said it respects Gagnier’s decision, but blames the controversy on the Conservatives and their “negative and mean-spirited politics.”

  16. I think he is looking more and more like Mick every day. I keep asking where is the old war horse Maggie, I guess peter mansbridge just didn’t look hard enough to find her for an interview. Maybe she is in Cuba visiting uncle Fidel.

  17. “Franco-Ontarian”… that sounds like an expensive designation, for non “francos”… It was awful nice of Trudowe Sr. to give francos a never ending source of non francos money… maybe Jr. Trudipshit will give the francos a raise, for a vote. Nice racket.

  18. Robert of Ottawa replied to comment from Shamrock -“No this isn’t a Toronto team, it is Canada’s team,. unfortunately located in Toronto.”
Since when is Toronto a part of Canada?

  19. Yep, the LIEberals make Blackbeard look like a piker… 🙂
Who’da thought parsimonious pirates would make the LIEberals look bad?
    Cheers

  20. Surely the folks at Trans Canada must have realized that Premier Wynne’s
“Lady Bountiful” act on the taxpayers dime to sweep away the gas fired
power plants as a provincial election issue had some strings attached?
    Come on guys, ante up.

  21. ” The Liberals say Justin Trudeau’s national campaign co-chair did not break any ethical standards.” of course not. They’re Liberals and they wouldn’t know an ethical standard if it slapped them in the face.

  22. LindaL: “That us EXACTLY how they operated under Chretien….Justin’s squeaky clean image is being used to lure support, but it’s the same old Liberals at the trough.”
This comment says it all…can the CPC turn it into a commercial and get it on the air NOW? CPC…are you reading this?

  23. and remind the voters of ADSCAM…I haven’t seen a word of that in this campaign.
Reminds me of a local company in here in Saskatoon…a great product…recognized as world class…with a marketing department that failed kindergarten art class.

  24. The Conservatives should use every means left at their disposal to point to the attempt by the Liberals to start syphoning money from the system. The other thing they should be pointing out to those in the west that he was talking about the National Energy Strategy – shades of Turdeau senior and his National Energy Policy.
These guys are so arrogant that they are assuming a victory and starting to divide up the spoils.
    Shades of adscam.
Time to scream from the rooftops: LIBERALS SAY THE FIX IS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. If this behaviour happened with the Energy East Pipeline group how many others have been tapped likewise? Did the campaign co-chair step back so quick because there’s more velvet glove pick pocket activity that may get uncovered?
Like a Pavlovian dog, Liberals get the smell of money coming their way and can’t stop themselves from salivating. Sheesh – and the ROC continues to support these crooks like blind wombats

  26. There is no “fair” when contesting an election against these thieves. Steven Harper has not said a thing about the Ontario and Quebec debt, if by chance the imbecile was to be the winner, there would be a rush between their two premiers to pleasure Justy for a whack of Albertas and Saskatchewans non-existant money. Follow the money, Ontario is the highest indebted non soverign jurisdiction in the “world”, with Quebec running second. If Ontario wants this dud they can have him, but Canada will eventually split if it happpens. most countries are dumping their green foolishness before they go completely broke, this moron puppet will do the Butts dance and double down on this green lunacy and goodbye Canada. Look at your children before voting, not enough Canadians did that when they fell for his despicable father who inherited a country 8 billion in debt and left it 230 billion in debt. No one runs their own finances like that.

  27. “Some tend to think of the LPCers as ideological socialists akin to the Dips.”
The Liberals are Fascists and the NDP are Communists, they are socialist kin.

  28. Ethical standards only apply to Conservatives, don’t you know?
Typical Liberals. Our soon-to-be lords and masters for the next decade. Thanks a lot, CBC & CTV.
We’re going to seriously regret over the coming decade the fact that the Conservatives tried to play nice too much. They didn’t burn CBC to the ground. They didn’t gut a lot of federal programs. They made some progress to be sure (good-bye, gun registry, good-bye, wheat board, etc.), but there is a lot of cruft left in the government that Pony will soon be taking over and growing.
The next Conservative government, whenever it may come to power, needs to slash & burn. Forget about how mean they appear. Forget about winning a second term, even. Liberals build fiefdoms in government when they’re in power, and those fiefdoms need to be ruthlessly pulled out and destroyed when Conservatives are in power, else they just survive a Conservative stint and continue to grow under the next Liberal regime.
Otherwise, really, what’s the point? Conservatives just end up being Liberal-lite caretakers, which is partly why we burned the PC party to the ground. Except Red Tories think that’s exactly what Conservative governments SHOULD be, and it won’t surprise me a bit if in the wake of this seeming election loss, they start agitating to pull the party back to the “center” (by which they mean “left”).

  29. Oh – the old days. Liberal corruption always involves big numbers and is constant. They can’t help themselves. Conservative corruption is more about procedure and less about cash.

  30. Fully agree. The fact the MSM Liberal cheerleaders reported it at all is remarkable. They probably concluded to have ignored it would have exposed them to irrefutable charges of bias.
Imagine if this was Harper’s campaign chair. It would have been thermonuclear and dominated the media cycle right through Monday.
The LPC hogs are already shuffling and jockeying toward the trough.

  31. // Where do I sign up for the western separation party? //
Your guy has been in power for three elections.
At least wait until the polls are in before you commence whining about being left out.
// But if Trudeau wins this election, and it is far from certain that he will, his victory will have less to do with platform, tactics, or performance. In recent weeks, it’s been clear that the country is taking a long hard look at who we really are. It’s more about values, and less about the economy, than we anticipated.//
    Bruce Anderson Wednesday 14 October 2015 http://bit.ly/1VUAQ5p

  32. Good comment and interesting piece by Anderson.
    Values indeed.
If the choice of voters is to live large at future voters expense , then truly we have expressed Canadian Values.
Course the demographics of both birthrate and cites will soon enough see us run out of fresh marks and other peoples money.
One does wonder what these Values will amount to when those espousing them have to use their own money to pay for them.
Of course all we will hear from the media if Canada slips into basket case economy status due to choosing Liberals Values: “Harper caused this, and this and this”.

  33. “interesting piece by Anderson”
I found it to be nothing more than the usual Harper bashing and Trudeau worship. The comments on the niqab thing was the typical and tedious crap that we have been fed by our betters since the whole thing developed. Can these people not get it through their thick skulls that the vast majority of Canadians find this to be an important and troublesome issue and that the Prime Minister is treating it as such? Harper says OK, it’s a problem with many, many Canadians and we will deal with it. Trudeau says don’t worry about it. We know better.

  34. Glad I was not the only one sucked into reading it.
As for the second part from biffjr, of the Tyhee going on about worrying financial trends.. 4 years from monday, if the Budget Balances Itself party wins, we will be treated to the high costs of financing the incurred deficits adding to a total national debt in the trillions.
However even then the socialists will still be insisting that Harper did it.
Just as the Obomanation shills are still blaming George Bush.
    Same tactics from same operatives.

  35. The big mistake the Cons. made was the ” Beating a dead Horse over and over”. Once they established the fact Justin had
no background experience, THE LINE SHOULD HAVE BEEN, WE HOPE HE CAN SEE THE NEED TO SURROUND HIMSELF WITH SOME COMPETENT PEOPLE, not the tired old scandal mongers like McCallum and goodall. Hitting the refrain over and over to get it established was good ,but then it should be put in a sympathetic , or better yet a joke mode. It ended up seen by many as Harper being a bully. THE CONSERVATIVES ASSEMBLED tHE STRONGEST TEAM OF MP’S IN hISTORY. This was evident not only in the number promoted to Ministeries, but due to the need to bring in M/P.’s from all regions, the number of obviously highly qualified that did not get a turn. Anyone who has watched a Question Period has seen the lack of competent people in other Parties with M P’s like Charley Angus in the fore. He was actually lauded by the CBC.

  36. Liberals haven’t had any values since Louie St. Laurent. Whichever way the wind blows on any subject are the values of the Liberal Party today. The NDP at least has values even if abhor most of them.

  37. Shamrock: I’m sure some Toronto fans are great but other not so much. The Toronto boors threw beer, bottles, garbage and coins into the Texas dugout and onto the players. Some of this stuff was apparently coming from the 2nd deck landing on their own fans below.
I didn’t listen to the game as I was hunting but today as I drove across the great fruited plain I did listen to MLB radio and the Toronto fans were pilloried.
The Jays run is super for baseball in Canada. As for me I pull for the sr. league.

  38. The political correct Elitist and a bias media managed to keep the
invasion of Europe out of the public eye. The facts are apparent with 73% of the “refugees being Males between the age of 18 and 35.
and obviously well organized, financed and under the Leadership of a number of those well dressed young males, that it was a well planned invasion. They even had a banking loan system, where access to boats, trains ,and necessities, was handled by cell phones, through those leaders and relatives in Syria The looting and chaos was kept out of the news as it would favour Harper, and make the Mulcair and Trudeau bafflegab look stupid. We will see trudeau follow Ms Wynn’s sterling leadership and Tax and Spend, WOOPS sorry, it is now Invest in insufficiencies. I note that Ontario as a non Federal state has the highest deficit in the world. Also highest Electrical rates in North America. They do have some firsts. Lookout Canada !

  39. Trudeau playing the Nigab charade as Harper Being divisive is
a serious ploy. He made the statement to a reporter following a long diatribe on how emigrants from all over the world , and with different cultures Built a strong Canada. He then added ” different Cultures require different laws.” IN THE CONTEXT OF THE REPORTERS QUESTION I TOOK IT TO MEAN AN ACCEPTANCE OF SHARIA lAW. THE REPORTER OF COURSE DIDN’T FOLLOW UP. When He previously had asked Harper the same question, Harpers reply was,”In Canada there will be one Law for all Canadians.
