I showed that headline to my wife last night, and explained to her that *that’s* one of the reasons I will never vote for left-wing politicians ever again. Obama is just barely short of being a traitor to everything that America is supposed to stand for (and this Iran deal makes me unsure about the “short of” part), Trudeau is every bit as stupid if not moreso, and I don’t think much better of Mulcair.
Harper is the only adult in the room. Sadly I’m becoming resigned to his defeat. The polls are not in our favor. The cranky lefty kiddies of the country want him out, and the media is all too happy to carry their water. The best case scenario I see now is a short-lived (18 months tops) Conservative minority; worst case a full-blown Dipper/Lib formal coalition majority. The seat projections I looked at yesterday for out here in the east show a complete red/orange sweep. Depressing stuff.

I don’t think most Canadians have a clue how seriously troubled the global economy is. They’d rather laugh at laid off Albertan’s who can’t make “All that BIG OIL money”, and praise the newly elected communist party to “make things right” again.
We are headed to real/proxy war in the Middle East with Russia, Iran, and Syria and a full blown economic war with China as the western economy teeters.
Domestically ALL the western countries are in trouble for a plethora of reasons, and yet like Greece Canadians want to vote for everything that accelerates the race to the bottom.

They don’t. We’ve been too prosperous for too long, and have gone completely soft. Most Canadians have absolutely no concept of what real poverty, real deprivation, real danger, real evil, etc. look like, and hence have no compass with which to judge just how utterly unfit Trudeau or Mulcair are to deal with such things. Witness all the stupid cries about doing something for the Syrian (non)refugees, for one current example.
We’ll find out within a generation or two what those things are again. I hope for my son’s sake we survive it.
