  1. Agreed, Saskatchewan and Alberta became provinces in 1905, but don’t think they were given full control of their resources until the 30’s, and that only because central Canada figured they didn’t have any.

  2. One would think that having a star NDP candidate in “Canada’s Most Important City” telling the ROC that one of Canada’s most important resources “must be left in the ground” in order to meet a \commitment’ that doesn’t come due for 85 years would warrant the input of comments by said ROC.
But not on the CBC. Just not really a story worth public comment I suppose.
Just one step away from leaving the story in the ground.

  3. Yeah, in much the same way Kermit Gosnell was only a local news story…or so we were told.
These PP videos show why he had frozen babies in the clinic, though: he knew there was money to be made.

  4. America’s Princess: The conundrum that is Princess Chelsea Clinton
“How different is Chelsea? Yes, she’s a media star and everyone walks on eggshells around her. Complimenting her and throwing cash at her are very solid strategies if you want to get on the good side of her parents. But aside from getting married and producing a child (is this sounding familiar?) she has done nothing. And yet she has been showered with the sort of riches and rewards which working class people dream of when they buy their lottery tickets every week.”

  5. “Since 1905, both Alberta and Saskatchewan have owned their mineral and oil rights. Now, an NDP candidate from downtown Toronto has made the following statement. ”Oilsands may have to be left in the ground. ””
The federal government has always practiced colonialism on the prairies. While every other province owned its mineral rights, the feds kept those in Alberta and Saskatchewan until 1930.

  6. CTV yesterday, News Flash evidence ISIS is selling women as slaves.
Well duh, but nothing says clueless like the question put by talking head to “Expert”.
Essentially'” Do all ISIS members approve of this business, or do “more moderate” fanatics attempt to protect women.”
Now maybe that was Loyd Robertson talking, I don’t watch enough to care, but the lying libtard tone and shape of how he asks the question is priceless.
The poor expert seems to choke.

  7. In today’s featured ‘politics’ article at the CBC site;
” Amid the debate over who wants a tax on Netflix (answer: nobody), ”

    The last 10 seconds of last night’s National;
Adrienne Arsenault, ” …the CBC has called on Netflix and other similar streaming services to contribute to the Canadian media fund as Canadian broadcasters do, and that is the National …”

  8. Some boys in Newfoundland were molested in their school. You’ll remember this. They were of European ancestry.
I desire – no, I DEMAND that all persons of Caucasian ancestry in Canada be given money. LOTS of money. Because only sweet, sweet lucre, preferably extracted from the wallets of working Aboriginal people, can truly heal the deep psychological wounds of abuse and cultural genocide.
I demand that all persons of European ancestry in Canada be allowed to ignore the laws of the land and practice our ancient tribal customs, not excluding burning people alive in wicker men and frequent, bloody tribal warfare.
I demand an apology from Pope Wimpicus I to all persons of European ancestry in Canada (I expect to get it, too).
    Just sayin’.

  10. Have recently watched Borgen on a DVD set borrowed from public library. Great political drama on Danish politics, 3 political parties plus some stragglers. Tough TV station with interviewers. New prime minister is a woman. If you like politics watch this.

  11. Are Wynne & McQuaig in the same political party. No – actually close enough.
“Wynne makes historical jab against Harper during Liberal campaign event.”
Historic as in really stupid? That’s quite an “achievement.” She criticizes Harper’s leadership? Is her hissy fit supposed to put her on some higher moral plane? She is premier of the province that has the highest sub sovereign debt in the world, whose deficit is more than the net federal & provincial deficits combined. It seems we could all be a lot better off without her “leadership.”
If progressive clowns like her were in power during Sir John A’s time, we still wouldn’t have a transcontinental railway link. It’s fools like her who continually use paralysis by analysis for any and all environmental projects – except wind farms that is.

  12. Try the Donald Trump insult generator.

Personally, I don’t think telling the truth, being candid with your opinions, is insult.
Like many, I delight in Trump giving the finger (two fingers in the UK) to the US political establishment. They are all left (except for their wealth) and protect themselves from the miserable unenlightened hoi poloi, who cheer Trump.
The masses are not stupid, they know they are being given false options and that government stats and media news stories are not reflective of reality.
Would Trump be a good POTUS? He can’t be worse than the current one. I think the good GOP candidates should figure out how to include him and the veins of frustration in the American people this populist is tapping into.
I am very suspicious of lefties like Paglia, who I like for her independent stances on many issues, warning of Trump being a Trojan horse for Hillary. Not impossible, but he is stirring up issues on which the Hilderbeast is vulnerable.
Trump isn’t Republican, he is Trump. Which brings me back to my question Would Trump be a good POTUS?

  14. “‘Democracy is too important to be left to the politicians’: Elizabeth May has a small party but a big voice

  15. The CBC will be covering this in 1,2,3, … never mind.
” …the government said the CAF promoted anti-Semitism and supported terror groups Hamas and Hezbollah. ”
The former head of the CAF, none other than Liberal candidate, top advisor and BFF of JT, Omar Alghabra.
That likely has lots to do with JT’s reluctance to use force against the jihadists.
