Scratch the surface of any climate hysteric and you will find a Malthusian zenophobic misanthrope. The same type who attempted to depopulate the planet of "the wrong kind of people" in the last century - they are just more scientific in their methodology now.
My sympathies to you for having to endure a cult in your youth that did not encourage independent thought.
My experience is much different, where independent thought was a necessary way to arrive at what can only be a logical conclusion to a lifelong spiritual search.

I'm quite content that I have found inner peace with the help of my church, since that's where the path of the free will that's within all of us can lead.

I recently was working with some younger folks (and one 50 something) and what got me was how they just regurgitate the "facts" they've been fed with no comprehension whatsoever. When the 50 something started in on the old "run an engine on hydrogen by electrolysis powered by the engine" I just about lost it.
When they all started in on how great Elon Musk is with that home lithium battery scam I felt like I was swimming through molasses trying to explain kw/h and capacity - finally saying that with the usable capacity you could cook a large pizza with your $10 000 lithium battery (an exaggeration you could cook a large roast I think now).
There's more but I'm just getting angry again, so I'm going to stop. It might drive me to start drinking again and I've been sober for two years now.

Being an Oil Sands worker, I tend to focus on those blithering Eco-Zombies (FOOLs), such as Neil Young and David the PERVERT Suzuki et all (Michal Mann is somewhat down on my list), who constantly scream about shutting down our industry.
Their Hypocrisy knows zero bounds...
Thank you, Rob. This was a great article about the corruption of science. It is really frightening how mainstream media ignores any dissent that is the actual function of science. For science to work, there has to be a "This is what I think is true - Prove me wrong." attitude with all data made available. Honest scientists don't dare question anymore and only dare pursue politically correct answers.
Unfortunately, scientists today rank lower than politicians in believability. This makes me very angry as I value real science highly.
