Cold Camembert and Broken Crackers

You broke it, you bought it. Some people are more equal than others.

People “should not be forced to live on property with brown lawns, golf on brown courses or apologize for wanting their gardens to be beautiful,” Yuhas fumed recently on social media. “We pay significant property taxes based on where we live,” he added in an interview. “And, no, we’re not all equal when it comes to water.”

The utopia of failed social states continues unabated.

The Regina Manifesto was the programme of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation and was adopted at the first national convention of the CCF held in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1933. The primary goal of the “Regina Manifesto” was to eradicate the system of capitalism and replace it with a planned economy of socialism. The CCF was a democratic socialist party founded in 1932 by farmers, workers and socialist groups against the backdrop of the Great Depression.
The Manifesto was largely written by members of the League for Social Reconstruction, particularly Frank Underhill and F.R. Scott, and called for “a planned and socialized economy in which our natural resources and principal means of production and distribution are owned, controlled and operated by the people”. Specifically it called for the nationalization of transportation, communications, electrical power and other services. It called for a planned economy and a national banking system that would be “removed from the control of private profit-seeking interests.” It advocated the ability to organize in trade unions and called for a National Labour Code “to secure for the worker maximum income and leisure, insurance covering illness, accident, old age, and unemployment.” The Regina Manifesto proposed social service programs such as publicly funded health care, supported peace, promoted co-operative enterprises and vowed that “No C.C.F. Government will rest content until it has eradicated capitalism and put into operation the full programme of socialized planning which will lead to the establishment in Canada of the Cooperative Commonwealth.”
The Regina Manifesto remained the CCF’s official programme until 1956 when, in the face of the strong anti-communist sentiment of the Cold War, it was replaced by the more moderate Winnipeg Declaration which substituted Keynesian economics for socialist remedies.

  2. This bit is priceless.
“When we bought, we didn’t plan on getting a place that looks like we’re living in an African savanna.”
Southern California’s natural climate is desert. It goes in long cycles of dry to wet and back. The long wet period is starting to end. What’s really happening is California’s under-investment in water infrastructure, particularly things like desalination, over the past half century is now coming home to roost.
California is finally getting what it deserves, and it’s finally hitting home with the rich snots.

  3. What they need is millions of more Mexicans to help them share the water they have Left. This is what you wanted California.
It isn’t just the fruit and vegetables that are going to be ripe this summer.

  4. Here in the heart of Southern California, the stark reality
is that by cutting off the flow of water to the South, the
people in the most progressive cities (San Francisco bay
area and most of Northern California) are seeing no
    shortage at all.
Nobody is seeing their lawns turn brown in Marin County
in spite of the fact that millions of acre-feet of
water is being pissed away into the SF Bay.

  5. Yeah well, you are assuming that there is a universal awareness that fresh water is being diverted from the interior of California to not just to preserve a small bait fish in the Sacramento Delta but to create/restore a spawning environment for salmon…..an agenda that just ain’t working or gonna work.
That water “being pissed away into the SF Bay” is more than enough to supply all irrigation, lawn watering and urban water supply….
    Like AGW it’s all political….

  6. Forced busing out of the area forced desegrigation should.nt be allowed screw the United Nations and the rest of the liberal wanks

  7. “replaced by the more moderate Winnipeg Declaration which substituted Keynesian economics for socialist remedies.”
Read the Winnipeg Declaration “Private profit and corporate power must be subordinated to social planning designed to achieve equality of opportunity” Sounds like it was written by Lenin.
A lot of people want to believe that the NDP are not raving lunatic socialists. Just sit back and watch the coming show in Alberta. The only difference between the Communists and the NDP is that the Communists are honest.

  8. “The only difference between the Communists and the NDP is that the Communists are honest.” You have that right, and now they all hide behind the subtle noun “progressive”.
How many California farmers have gone bankrupt and how many illegals and other farm workers have lost their farm jobs. How many supporting farm infrastructure jobs and businesses have been lost over a bait fish?

  9. The difference between a communist and the ndp is one thing. Force. How much is a communist willing to use juxtaposed against the force a ‘progressive’ is comfortable with. That’s it.

  10. Agenda 21 even more reasons to get america out of the wretched United Nations eveict these crinimals, dictatord, terrorists and war mongers from america and raize the entire UN facility to the ground turn the area ina bird refuge without the vultures already there

  11. That’s just the theory that Marxist university PoliSci professors want people to believe.
However in practice, what the Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics(USSR) showed was that FORCE was a central feature of their central planning and also their chief export.
Interfering with the *free market* IS force, explicitly or implicitly.
*I don’t like the term ‘capitalism’ because Marx invented it and it is a poison term*

  12. I noted in numerous visits that the southern States including Arizona. #1 the furtherest into desert areas the more ponds, fountains etc on golf courses. #2 THE BEAUTIFUL SPACIOUS lAWNS IN FRONT OF LARGE CORPORATE OFFICE BUILDINGS.#3 In northern California the irrigation Agriculture watering system going full blast during rainstorms.as the regulations determines next years allowance is based on present years allowance. DON;T BLAME THE FARMER.#4 Yes it is my business as the “The water being Pissed away into S F Bay” comes out of Canada, and the agreement on use prohibits any diversions or irrigation use in Canada. The fisheries spawning was the main consideration; #5 The affront to Mexico where the large Rio Grande’ is only ankle deep when it reaches the Mexico Boundary.
