Manitoba NDP Turmoil Sees Some Key Staff Members Head for Alberta.

When the rats appear above decks.....the ship is sinking...

Gee. It's almost as if they're going somewhere for more money and power but only capitalists would do something like that so it must be for some other reason.

Thanks for the carpetbaggers Manitoba. 15 years of Bolshevik government? Wow! When I lived in Winnipeg, it fooled me. There were a lot of big buildings but none of them were new. You could see that at one time it was really wealthy. That was before the commies eschewed excellence and voted for the lowest common denominator. It was a head office city until all the local wealth moved to Calgary or Toronto or was taxed out of existence.

The locusts migrate.

These NDPers have sucked the tete dry, off to milk the elephant called Alberta.

We will recognize them by the stretch marks around their mouths!!!

.

The NDP have failed so badly in Manitoba they began eating their own last year. God forbid they should be allowed to go to Alberta and ruin that province as well.

But I still blame the Alberta Conservatives for the whole mess , you have to really screw up to make Alberta vote NDP , let alone give them a majority.

"In The First Recorded Sighting Of Rats Boarding A Sinking Ship
Manitoba NDP Turmoil Sees Some Key Staff Members Head for Alberta."

One of your best headline titles ever, Kate

Notley has ex Sask premier Lorne praise the Lord Calvert at her side. You people in Alberta are Screwed.

In the end, the NDP will f*** up Alberta as badly as they did Manitoba, which WAS a prosperous Province when I left in 1966.

It's been downhill ever since.

A Manitoba Liberal Party executive told me that Manitoba had passed the "point of no return" economically in 1980, with over 50% of the working population getting their income from the government/taxpayers.

I wonder how long it will take Alberta to pass the same point.

Let's hope the lunacy that struck Albertans doesn't translate into the same insanity federally this Fall.

That's all we need in Alberta now more Dipper Carpetbaggers.......

More ringers. All that top drawer talent in the new caucus must really have their noses out of joint.

What a dumb headline. There's no 'turmoil'. For there to be turmoil there would need to be some missing value from these people leaving. There is none. Replacing the legislature and hangers-on with garden vegetables would barely be noticeably beyond the added fibre.

"But I still blame the Alberta Conservatives for the whole mess"

Really? How is the Wild Rose Party responsible? Or are you talking about the stupid people who voted for the Progressive Prentice regime who thought that because they tacked the word conservative on their name after Progressive that somehow they should be confused with conservatives?

Alberta Conservatives voted Wild Rose because they no longer had any influence, however small, in the Alberta PC party at all.
Conservatives, myself included, came to this conclusion when distant 3rd place 'Red' Ed Stelmach was elected Alberta PC leader back in 2006.

Canadian Conservatives were relegated to the political wilderness from 1993 until Stephen Harper's CPC was finally elected to a minority government in 2006(13 years) because Easterners kept voting for the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada and splitting the conservative vote, refusing to recognize that the true conservative base in Alberta had permanently rejected the PCs in 1993 and created something new.

After 1993, the only purpose of the PC Party of Canada was to keep the conservative vote split and act as a stalking horse to keep the Left(Liberals) in power.

The Alberta PC Party is planning to do the exact same thing.(NDP in power)
The PCs will never gain power in Alberta again. A vote for the PCs is now a vote for the NDP.

Don't blame Wild Rose supporters for wanting something better than creeping socialism.
The Alberta PCs are DONE.

I thought Alberta was rat-free?

The hordes of socialist carpetbaggers are running as fast as they can to the new promised land of Public Teat Lip Locking and opportunities to get rich taking money away from the actual people who earned it.

Look what these top advisers have done for the province of Manitoba. About 1 billion in equalization, top murder rate in Canada, more missing and murdered aboriginal women than anywhere in the country, massive debt levels for 1 million people. The hurt will eventually be felt in Alberta. We in Sask finally woke up after 50 years of NDP rule.

"We in Sask finally woke up after 50 years of NDP rule."

Saskies kept electing the NDP with a majority of the popular vote, the NDP didn't keep getting in there because of vote splitting on the right.

Alberta is a different case altogether.
We already know what the good life is supposed to be about, it will be missed very quickly by those of us associated with the oil industry and there are a lot of us.

'Profit' is not considered a curse word in Alberta, like it was in Saskatchewan.
The NDP politics of envy will not find fertile ground here outside of the Public Sector Unions.

Great caption Kate, and great comments above.

The socialists screw up or stagnate the economies wherever they are elected and yet some people keep voting for them. It must be because some just can not resist being on the public dole.

Don Morris, "Let's hope the lunacy that struck Albertans doesn't translate into the same insanity federally this Fall." I agree wholeheartedly.

Don Morris, "Let's hope the lunacy that struck Albertans doesn't translate into the same insanity federally this Fall."

You mean the vote splitting on the right that resulted in the NDP coming to power?
By what magic does the vote split on the right in Federal politics?
Is there another contender for the conservative vote in Federal politics?
Are all those people swooning for Justin Trudeau going to vote NDP or are the people who are dazzled by the NDP victory of achieving the position of Official Opposition for the first time going to vote Liberal?

Only someone who hasn't analyzed the Alberta election or knows almost nothing about Alberta politics could say such a thing.

Prior to the election, I got into a twitter discussion with Sheila Gunn Reid and some AB NDPer, I told them to expect the Manitoba carpetbaggers coming to their Province, the NDPer scoffed.

The NDP grass roots really don't have a clue that there is an elitist group of NDPers who will go wherever they can get their mitts on taxpayer's money. The aren't called "travellers" for nothing. They are parasites who wreck havoc wherever they land. And they breed new generations of their ilk. The Notley family in AB, the Devine- Doers of SK and MB, the Ashtons of MB. NDPers may claim to be anti-royalty, but they have their own royal families, and the drone bee bureaucrats will head to the hives with the most honey (provided by the workers.)

NDP airlift targets Alberta. Well, don't let the door hit your etc etc on the way out folks. Hope you enjoy your four year stint with Retch-all and her band of unionistas, looneys and other assorted social and economic saboteurs and troughsters. Next stop? Maybe BC voters will have forgotten how bad you guys are by the time Retch-all and her crew are turfed.

These imported rodents had best keep an eye out for the AB rat patrol - the only truly dedicated group committed to literally keeping Alberta rat-free.

I figure in a year or two when all the rat tails are in plain sight, the patrol will have plenty of volunteers.

Dear Oz, I'm sorry someone urinated in your cornflakes this morning, that wasn't very nice of him/her.

I don't claim to be an "expert" on Alberta politics. Do you claim to be an expert on Alberta politics? I don't remember reading your prediction of an NDP majority.

I predicted a RW split and saw a RW coalition, with the Dippers on the outside with about 20 seats. I was spectacularly wrong! What said YOU, at the time?

Federally, the Right attracts about 40% of the vote, and I fear that the same insanity that caused 40% of Albertans to vote NDP might infect the rest of Canada, and they vote 40% LPC or NDP, thus giving us either a Left or Far left government in Ottawa.

Right now, that scenario isn't far-fetched.

Weclome to MANIBERTA!

Urine aside, predictions are irrelevant. The result in Alberta, which you or anyone else can look at in hindsight, was caused by a split in the right vote.
Do you understand the concept of vote spitting?

Nothing of the kind will occur in the Federal election unless you have a right wing party itching to compete with the CPC hidden up your ass along with your head.

Be nice Oz!! Lololololol.

Tthere is no new love for socialism in Alberta for the NDP, BUT the new Premier has a choice, govern for the good of the province or give in to their failed ideology.
I predict they give into their failed ideology, they can't help themselves and will show they are unfit to govern the country.
Keep in mind the NDP are one party provincially and federally, there are no barriers. Their union masters are influential and will be the downfall of their opportunity in Alberta.

We need to reign in the public sector unions, be it civil service, teachers, police, all of them. They call the shots and determine if a party gets elected and their cooperation is needed to govern. The taxpayers are getting bent over. Right to work, voluntary dues, unions collect their own dues, open votes, no political activities in the name of the union, and tax their income.

Their activities need to stop, they are in league with international socialist organizations, using funds coerced from Canadian workers promoting socialist policy that are not in the interests of Canada.

That's the NDP base.

Say goodbye to your wallet Albertans

Of course they are swarming into Alberta, there are only 4 years to loot.
Get in now, steal large and leave the local "Useful Idiots" to feel the love.

When I heard about this a few days ago my reaction was simple. You're not satisfied with having screwed up your own province now you have to screw up mine too?

"We need to reign in the public sector unions, be it civil service, teachers, police, all of them."

Let's not forget the firefighters, otherwise known as the IAFF. They have our city council by the knackers - we have 41 regular firefighters who apparently need another 17 captains to make sure they can handle the 4 structural fires we had last year. Average salary in our fire department? $91,000/yr.

Until the November election we had a former president of the IAFF sitting as a councillor and the union is the most generous contributor to a number of councillors.

But don't criticize the fire department. Like teachers, their 'work' is sacrosanct and above reproach.

You keep repeating the line about vote splitting on the right in the Alberta election. Please enlighten us which 2 parties represented the right in the last (couple) Alberta elections. I can only think of 1.

Which makes Don Morris's comments valid. I too hope that the country as a whole haven't slid left.

True that Wild Rose was the only right party, however the many voters who voted for the PCs thought that they were voting for the only viable conservative(right) option regardless of the PCs not actually being a right party.
Therefore it was vote splitting on the right.

It should also be remembered that Wild Rose was not able, due to the early election which was called for this very reason, to field candidates in every Alberta riding. Therefore the PCs were the only choice in those ridings that right voters had to vote for over the Liberals and NDP. The knowledge that Wild rose was unable to field candidates in every riding was an influence on right voters, yet Wild Rose increased their seat count.
That is the reality.
I guarantee that the CPC will be fielding candidates in every riding in the country and I further guarantee that Wild Rose will be fielding candidates in every Alberta riding next election.

Don's comments are not valid.
