A Speech In Cairo

NYT: Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday that its new monarch, King Salman, would not be attending meetings at the White House with President Obama or a summit gathering at Camp David this week, in an apparent signal of its continued displeasure with the administration over United States relations with Iran, its rising regional adversary.

  1. King Salman formed an Arab military coalition that defeated Houthi rebels in Yemen that were allied with Iran.
    Sooo,
Why would any strong leader like the king desire a summit meeting with a couple of losers like John Kerry and Hussein Obama?

    Next on Bambi’s agenda,
Travel to Saudi Arabia, bend over double, pucker up,
and kiss The King Salmans Ass..

  2. Obama can only kiss one Muslim ass at a time and he’s best bud with Iran at this time. There’s no legacy to be had with the Saudi’s but his chief advisor, Valarie Jarrett is Iranian , what could possibly go wrong ? Just because everything else he’s touched has turned to crap doesn’t mean this one won’t be a winner. No ?

  3. Choices, choices for poor dissinfranchised Obamba, bend to the holy ideals of Islam, or bend to the holy petro-dollar.
I’m guessing Iran solved this moral dilemma for him by offering a bribe big enough to tell the Saudis to pound sand.

  4. No doubt Saudi and other OPEC members will immediatly cut back oil production to increase oil prices and help out floundering US Oil & Gas interests.

  5. I see peterj made reference to Valerie Jarrett the Iranian already.
I heard last week on the John Batchelor Show that VJ is very tight with one of the ayatollah’s senior advisers. A senior adviser formerly involved with orchestrating terror attacks. Terrific.

  6. Heh, global power politics are a whole lot harder than fixing a few ward elections – right BO!
Never send a ward healer to do a President’s job

  7. Occam has, in general, a good point, but Harry Truman, a talented ward-heeler, rose to the demands of the Presidency and far better than his Democrat predecessor, Woodrow Wilson, an intellectual and academic who was no doubt disdainful of ward-heelers.

  8. Truman was the last great Democrat president. He’d be tarred & feathered as a warmonger by today’s Democrats.
Hell, looking at the list of Democrat presidents, Truman & Jackson are the only true greats. FDR was a great wartime president, but just another power-hungry socialist sleazeball in peacetime (Wilson was similar, but not as great in wartime). The rest of the Democrats range from middling to disastrous.

  9. The Iranians are masters of statesmanship. They know an idiot when they see one and they know how to manipulate them. They made Obutthole’s mentor, Jimmeh Carduh dance like an organ grinder’s monkey too.
It’s ironic actually. Liberals and leftists typically come to power by dividing and conquering their political opponents. Basically the Iranians have turned the table on the clotpoles in the Whitehouse and are beating them at their own game.

  10. Are we to conclude that the Saudis are still the good guys?
Not that I have much sympathy for any ME Muslims but from what I can see it is the Saudi led and financed radical Islamist that are causing most of the death and destruction in the area. The Shitte Iranians are not.
If I had to pick an ally in the ME it could be the Iranians. They have a better strategic location, big population and actually seem to have their political process in better order than the other dictators in the neighbourhood.
What will happen to the ME after we all strap our Tesla battery packs onto our houses?

  11. Camp David ???? you mean, the Scatman actually knows the location ??? maybe Hawaii – but not Camp David………….

  12. I just can’t figure out why DC isn’t jammed tight with protestors. Then again, I guess I could say the say thing about Toronto.

  13. Obama who armed terrorists wants americans disarmed and sells out the nation and buses power cant blame the king for avoiding this knave obama

  14. Canadian Prime Minister STEPHEN HARPER should invite Saudi Arabian PM King Salman into a CANADIAN woodshed FOR A LESSON IN GOOD WORLDLY BEHAVIOR, OR… IN OTHER WORDS….. KICK SAND ( ALBERTA OIL SANDS’) IN ROYAL ARABIAN FACE!
    HEY HARPER….. LEAD ….!!!

  15. Presumably King Salman feels the most perfect contempt for President POS, to the extent of finding it difficult to come near him.
And what is this meeting about anyway? It looks to me as though it is intended to convince the Loyal Supporters of said President POS that he is still in charge of the world.

  16. I’ll bet this was a shock for the New YorkSlimes and probibly the UnitedNations as well

  17. Obama has managed to simultaneously throw Saudi Arabia and Israel under the bus trying to make nice with a rogue nation.

  18. News flash: The Saudi aren’t our best buds either. The other face of the coin.
Basically, this is a long-delayed resurgence of the endless Sunni-Shia war, and it’s best to stay out. Giving them nukes is just insane.
