Just another day in Hopeychangistan;
Two years after being completed, $8-million-worth of solar panels at a Little Rock, Ark., Veterans Affairs hospital have never been turned on, and now the hospital is tearing down some of the panels.
A chunk of the roughly 7,000 inactive solar panels outside the Little Rock Veterans Affairs Hospital was recently dismantled to make way for a new parking garage…

–ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) — The Department of Veterans Affairs has terminated the contract for a wind turbine at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center.
The turbine has sat idle since it was erected in 2011.
On Friday, the VA said it was terminating an agreement with the lead contractor on the project, Massachusetts-based J.K. Scanlan Co.
VA spokesman Barry Venable tells WJON-AM the contractor was commissioned to provide a fully operational wind turbine and has failed to do so.
The VA has paid a majority of the $2.3 million cost to build the wind turbine. It’s estimated that a functional wind turbine would provide the St. Cloud VA with about 15 percent of its annual electricity usage or up to $200,000 per year.
The St. Cloud Times reports J.K. Scanlan could not be reached for comment Friday.–

It seems everything is upside down. What the H happened?
More and more money poured down the tolet of eco-energy poppycock Green eco-wacko stupidity just as idiotic as windturbines that harm birds and bats and is noisie and unreliable ECO-STUPIDITY
So they can waste untold millions on solar panels; but can’t treat the Vets who have been traumatized by battle, bled and lost limbs on behalf of the Adminstration.
What the Administration needs is a military boot in the backside PDQ.
Completely and utterly unacceptable.

well Ken, “secrete” bidding. When I suggested a while ago that there was very little in government that needed be secrete, a lot of know nothings in here were humping off at the gums about all the secrecy needed, one example was bidding for contracts, with open source and publicly open bidding much of this would be nipped in the bud as palm greasing and crony capitalism would decrease. Talking about this to a contractor friend of mine, he said the same thing and pointed out that he now is often in “open” bids with NO over run clauses, were much of the extra cost is often realized. Too many LIV’s, even amongst our so called conservatives, swelled heads is what we are fighting against
waves at hans the egotistical swelled head
Besides Fox News, this story of government bungling and ineptitude will never see the light of day. On the bright side, someone probably got promoted, a bonus or enhanced retirement.
The Chevy Volt is all but gone! Only an idiot would think that going from 38 Miles (on Electric) to 50 Miles (2016) is the magic bullet to drive sales.
NOBODY WANTS THE CRAP! AHOLEs

I think a Chevy Volt would make an -excellent- back-up generator for my house. Remove the fabulously expensive batter and generator set, and throw away the crappy car part.
