Mr. Brennan hinted he had little expectation that the agreement would change Iran’s behavior in the region, including its sponsorship of terrorism. And he acknowledged that the increased revenue Iran would receive as sanctions are lifted could bolster those efforts.
Two sides working toward a common goal: Rouhani added “the Iranian nation has been and will be the victor in the negotiations.”
And finally, Kissinger and Shultz weigh in;
Mixing shrewd diplomacy with open defiance of U.N. resolutions, Iran has gradually turned the negotiation on its head. Iran’s centrifuges have multiplied from about 100 at the beginning of the negotiation to almost 20,000 today. The threat of war now constrains the West more than Iran. While Iran treated the mere fact of its willingness to negotiate as a concession, the West has felt compelled to break every deadlock with a new proposal. In the process, the Iranian program has reached a point officially described as being within two to three months of building a nuclear weapon. Under the proposed agreement, for 10 years Iran will never be further than one year from a nuclear weapon and, after a decade, will be significantly closer.
[…]
Under the new approach, Iran permanently gives up none of its equipment, facilities or fissile product to achieve the proposed constraints. It only places them under temporary restriction and safeguard–amounting in many cases to a seal at the door of a depot or periodic visits by inspectors to declared sites. The physical magnitude of the effort is daunting. Is the International Atomic Energy Agency technically, and in terms of human resources, up to so complex and vast an assignment?

“The physical magnitude of the effort is daunting. Is the International Atomic Energy Agency technically, and in terms of human resources, up to so complex and vast an assignment?”
It hasn’t been up to it before, why should it be any better at it now?
Yes, it has been before. It’s a reporting agency not an enforcement agency. It’s been up to the UN Security Council to take any action. That’s where the failures have occurred. And that’s where the failures are occurring now.
The lifting of sanctions (practically unilaterally)will result in a much lower probability of regime change in Iran. Sanctions are the only real weapon we have short of invasion.
The path has been chosen. There will now be war.
Guaranteed.
US needs to give Israel a few bunker busters. so BamBam wont dirty his hands.
Both Huma and Jarret are Iranians. They have been the Wormwoods within this current administration, whispering and deceiving two of the most powerful people in the United States. If those two were Russians during the Kennedy years, Havana would the Capital of the 51 US States and Spanish would be the official language.
There is no logical explanation as to how and why this is being allowed to happen at this time in history. Strange days indeed!!!
Hollywood scum sucker Sean Penn can go live in Iran and i certialy would’nt miss him or his putrid movies
That my friend is it, exactly. This yellow administration is quite comfortable with putting Israel into a position where it has no choice but to make pre-emptive strikes. The despicable weasels will then howl that their agreement was proceeding nicely until Israel, the agressor, came along and disturbed the idyllic peace.
Israel was supposed to get the bunker busters, but guess who cancelled the order!
Apparently the pentagon has “upgraded these 30,000 pound” bunker busters. One has to wonder why, IIC (Idiot in chief) will never use them, and by the time he leaves office the option door will have closed as Iran will probably be able to assemble a big boomer in days. It will not matter who drops the sucker, Iran will retaliate by bombing Israel, and probably with their new found nuke.
there are a few types. they all have a rocket assist penetrating mechanism , one of the best has rubberized rocket fuel that manages to burn around any corner and into any room , and then there is the big bang

Is Obama fulfilling 17th century prophesy?
Link seems to be down, Type in Obama & Ahmadinejad in the Forbes search
Just on the face of it, going by the headlines and the pronouncements of the Obama admin. it seems to me that Somebody Really Important has decided that a nice little nuclear war in the Middle East would be in their interests.
Not in the best interests of the USA mind you, but just in Somebody Really Important’s interests. I really can’t figure who that might be, but some Major Moneybags seems to have talked the Empty Chair into this thing.
Maybe its somebody that hates Arabs, or hates Jews, or wants to depopulate the Earth before we kill Mother Gaia, or maaaybe its just some guy with a major short position on the Euro. Or maybe its a collection of Euro states that are tired of being jacked up by Arabs and Russians for fuel.
But whatever, I’m thinking it would be pretty convenient for some bankers and some countries if the Iranians nuke Israel and then the Israelis nuked everybody who ever p1ssed them off. Then the not-involved nations could go tsk tsk and send all kinds of humanitarian aid to the survivors, and pick up some oil fields real cheap.
Can’t you just see the little wheels going around in their heads?
‘The Iranian leader’s entourage also point out that Obama copied his campaign slogan “Yes, We Can” from Ahmadinejad’s “We Can,” used four years ago.’
So the slogan has gone from “We Can build a nuke” to
the Obama-Nation™’s “Yes, We Can give you a nuke”….
Far from limiting nukes this has already led the Saudis to openly asserting the need for nukes, in the wake of the ‘non-agreement’ agreement.
Thus the Obama-Nation’s™ prostration before the ‘rock n rollah’ ayatollah will lead to a white hot Nobel Non Peace Prize.
Yep, peace is breaking out all over the place!

I believe we can call this the ‘1938 Framework’

“Rouhani added “the Iranian nation has been and will be the victor in the negotiations.”
Not a hard thing to do when negotiating with Barack “Don’t Call My Bluff” Hussein Obama who traded 5 hard core terrorist commanders for 1 deserter/defector.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has had experience with important negotiations before.
In 1970, John Kerry an officer in the naval reserve, went to Paris during the Peace Talks on Ending the Vietnam War and came away with recommendations that the U.S. should “immediately and unilaterally” end their part in the Vietnam War.
Today we are seeing the same sort of recommendations come out of the Iran nuclear negotiations.
Note: Like Vietnam, Iran is a Russian client state.
Russia, which like Iran is also seeing sanctions imposed on them by the U.S. lead western world for rogue behavior, has made no announcements concerning the 2 new nuclear reactors which it signed an agreement with Iran late last year to build there.
Russia is still counting on the hard currency they will get from Iran for building those nuclear reactors and if these negotiations go according to plan, Iran will readily be able to pay Russia for those 2 new reactors, thus making an end run around the supposed ‘sanctions’ against Russia with the U.S. and it’s allies themselves paying to violate their own sanctions on Russia by immediately and unilaterally lifting sanctions on Iran who will then use the new currency to pay Russia for more nuclear technology.
No doubt Israel is well aware of this cynical shell game and will take the appropriate actions at the appropriate time to ensure their own survival.
I am betting Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt might start thinking they need nukes too. All those physics prof that no-one can understand might be heading home for the big bucks.
“I am betting Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt might start thinking they need nukes too.”
Yeah, any country that thought they were under the American “Nuclear Umbrella”, Canada included, should be thinking the same.
After all, if it’s okay for Iran to have nukes it’s equally okay for everybody else to have them and they should just dismantle the IAEA, end the charade and save the money.
I would love to see Canada and Israel partner up to build sophisticated fighter aircraft and nukes.Time we stood on our own two feet, and provided the means to defend ourselves in a nuclear world.
“Both Huma and Jarret are Iranians.”
Huma Abedin was born in Kalamazoo, MI, to an Indian father and a Pakistani mother. At 2 years her family moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Noting to do with Iran.
Yup. I hear that every time Obammy’s name or face comes up in Tehran, all the Ayatollahs start a swayin’ and a singin’

I think the Obama administration should pay Iran to take a hundred or so nuclear missile off of the US governments hands and declare the negotiations a success!
David Stockman is getting way ahead of himself…
you see the DEVIL is always in the details!

Iran’s Khamenei says neither rejects, accepts nuclear deal, details key

ANKARA (Reuters) – Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Thursday demanded that all sanctions on Iran be lifted as soon as a final agreement with world powers on curbing Tehran’s nuclear program was concluded.
In a live speech on Iranian state television, Khamenei said he neither backed nor rejected an interim accord reached between Iran and the powers last week. Its details would be decisive, he said, making his first comment on the framework deal.
The publication of a U.S. fact sheet showing terms that were at variance with the Iranian view of the agreement showed “devilish” U.S. intentions, he said.
“I neither support nor oppose it,” he said. “Everything is in the details; it may be that the deceptive other side wants to restrict us in the details.”
“The White House put out a statement just a few hours after our negotiators finished their talks…this statement, which they called a ‘fact sheet’, was wrong on most of the issues.”
The tentative accord, struck on April 2 after eight days of talks in Switzerland, clears the way for a settlement to allay Western fears that Iran could build an atomic bomb, with economic sanctions on Tehran being lifted in return.
Khameni reiterated Iranian denials that Tehran was seeking to build a nuclear weapon.
He added: “What has been achieved so far does not guarantee a deal or even that the negotiations will continue to the end.”
“I was never optimistic about negotiating with America… nonetheless I agreed to the negotiations and supported, and still support, the negotiators.”
He said he supported a deal that preserved the “interests and honor” of Iran and that an extension of a June 30 deadline should not matter.
Israel is immune to an atomic strike from any Muslim country:
1. Israel has 220 nuclear weapons as against 0 for 56 out of 57 Muslim countries — quite a deterrent.
2. The only Muslim country that has nuclear weapons is Pakistan, as an insurance policy against rival India.
3. Should S. Arabia buy Pakistani nukes these would be aimed at Iran, not at Israel.
4. Israel possesses the crown jewel of Islam, Jerusalem. What Muslim country would lob an atomic bomb at the third most important holy city of Islam?
Nuclear weapons in the hands of the Ayatollahs are not a problem. The Ayatollahs are a problem. Nuclear weapons do not kill people, the Ayatollahs kill people.
1. “Forget Syria, target Iran.” Daniel Pipes
2. “Chop off the head of the snake.” Saudi King Abdullah to General David Petreaus
Rizzy, are you THAT stupid, or did obumbles pay you to post that
If a man straps on C-4 and blows himself up, or goes nuclear, dead is dead!!!!
and yah, only Pakistan has nukes, but the norks would be happy to sell any one with $$$$ nukes at the drop of a hat, quicker than even Pakistan would
and there are muslims who would gladly sacrifice medena, Jerusalem, or meca, just as there are orthodox Jews that think todays Israel is against god’s will. Try keeping up with the various themes that run in the mid east. And then there is, as one Jewish pundit opined, the simple fact that Iran need only posses nukes and never use them to destroy Israel slowly. Under the “threat” of nukes the elite, rich, and intelects would probably move to locals less stressful, and leave Israel, eventually down grading Israel socially, technically, and business wise.
The Obomber’s response to the uprising in Iran a few years ago says it all. Someone in the administration is pro-Iran
I agree with you Rizwan, but let me throw one fly in your ointment. A nuclear armed Iran would be bolder and more rogue than even now using current means, such as funding/taking both sides in the ongoing Islamic/Arab civil war. Iran’s nukes may also up their threshold of use conventional weapons, drawing a radioactive line in the sand, say with retaliatory air strikes in Israel, especially after any pre-emptive action. IMHO Iran is closer to nukes than anyone thinks, perhaps they have some capability even now. Israel had nukes for years before the world acknowledged it.
Yes, Iran is deterred from using nukes by Israel, but they must think it is an insurance policy to cover their ever escalating adventurism, and surely their attention will turn to the hated Jewish state.
Then again, if Iran ever did deploy a nuke, then the Pandora’s box that has kept them under wraps since 1945 will again be opened with inconceivable consequences.
