A future Liberal government will take a medicare approach to the fight on climate change by working with the provinces and territories to reduce greenhouse gases, announced Liberal Party of Canada Leader, Justin Trudeau, today.

About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Carbon taxes are not only expensive and unpopular but they are taxes on the poor.
Where are the (insert own cause here) rights people on this?
Watched. It on CBC today. 2 good points made by panelists. What punishment is enforced if a province wants out? Seems like a pretty thin policy was the other one.
Oh yeah...it isn't a carbon tax. It's carbon pricing overseen by the feds of course.
Same concept as medicare...WOW
Can you say boondoggle? Sure, I knew you could.
I watched the whole thing on CBCNN online today, not surprisingly they have only posted a segment..oh well. Shorter Justin: Tommy Douglas..healthcare..beloved..Canadians..Bad Harper..Obama folks scared..social license..together..price..GOOD.
*sigh*
100% of the Hot Air produced comes from Liberals,lIberal politicians and Greenpeace and other enviromental idiots
Any real commitment to respect the jurisdiction of the provinces would entail a reduction in the size and scope of the federal government.
There would go all those Public Servant votes to retain their personal control of the government, regardless of Parliament.
Sir Wilfred Laurier may have believed in Canada as founded upon British Liberty and Common-Law but what Liberal P.M. since has truly done so?

Holy crap; cue Rolfe.
Wondering what the various territories are thinking about this....
Northwest- 100% diesel power generation
Nunavut- 100% diesel power generation
Yukon- 94% hydro 6% diesel 0.02% wind. (wind is actualy 0.09% Nameplate capacity but only delivers 10% of what's advertized)

Trudeau is an idiot. Nothing more needs to be said.
An idiot who will get 25% of the vote for showing up. Think soberly and somberly about such things.
Trudeau is going to Paris for a Climate change conference.
funny how Jihadists always end up in Paris.
Looks like the Liberals haven't learned from past fails. His brain gang have carbon tax fever and we all know how well that worked for Dion. Trudeau himself is a vacuous twit who knows nothing about much of anything fed to him by the pack behind the Liberal curtain who are as ill informed as he is.
Climate change or global warming is a farce imposed on the world by progressive Marxists vying for control of the very air we breath.
This nonsense of pricing carbon has to stop. There is no evidence concentrations of natural CO2 cause any harm to the planet let alone the minute contributions of man made CO2.
Environmentalism is out of control. The real plan, Agenda 21, is for a massive decline in the world population that would make Mao, Stalin and Hitler blush.
The monsters promoting this plan need to be outed and executed for crimes against humanity.
if only these CO2 jokers would put plastic bags over their heads and permanently reduce their carbon footprints we could all breath a lot easier.
Mean while, in related news, Canada Post reports as unprecedented increase in mail volume as angry constituents write their Liberal MPs .
UN admits carbon is wealth distribution. Finally.

Instead of the normal political BS "debates" that always
seek to protect people like Shiny Pony-Trudidiot or citoyen
Malcair, a one on one cage match with, oh say, someone like
"denier" Tim Ball who could really clean their clocks with
minimal effort would be most entertaining.
At least for the non leftists in the audience.
Exactly, and maybe even a higher percentage just for having a hippie nostalgic name and pretty hair, as well as a fawning media.
bobd06, very true, but unfortunately they have done their groundwork well in pulling the wool over the eyes of many and at the moment they are winning. After the collapse of the Soviet Union the Bolos just changed their tactics.
- and what province has the balls to say the truth - to say what needs to be said to this kind of chronic insanity
Truedough and his army of the undead carbon suckers need to be told that in a nation ruled by law, and a law and public policy making process which reacts only on fact, that empty headed Marxist punks with austerity agendas based in junk science and media brain washing can go Fxxx themselves.
But that won't happen because even Alberta has a nutless wonder for a premier.
The problem is not so much sorting out the "moles" from the "useful idiots" but finding the resolve to deal with them the same.
I recommend rope and lamp post.....
Eco-Extremists Former Veep and blabbering nincompoop Al Gore wants to elimnate privatly owned cars then lets start with him and his fleet of gas guzzlers then wht Obama and the rest of the eco-eletis hypotcrits
As silly as this policy announcement is, even sillier is that he and his puppeteers think that Medicare is a success worthy of emulating. It's like they are stuck in 1972.
Carbon taxes are free stuff for governments. Don't expect statists to give up on that. Besides they can't resist taxing nothing because, being so wise, they'll allocate it more "fairly." Of course that's BS. At least medicare, while wasteful, actually delivers good to some people and makes their lives better; taxing away their prosperity along with higher electricity costs with the obscene waste of "fighting climate change" does nothing for the environment but does it ever deliver to the rent seekers.
Trudeau and his statist ilk will never figure out you cannot make the rich less rich without making the poor poorer. (TY Margaret Thatcher, RIP). It's definitional, it's irrefutable; unless of course you go with the meme, or pretend we are "part of government" that "invests" on "our" behalf. Sorry, it'll always be on their behalf.
Remember, if only we'd imposed a national carbon tax, the Keystone pipeline would have passed. Wait, it did, I mean the POTUS wouldn't have had to veto it. Yeah that's it.
Medicare. As in 1/3 of the budget?
A HOT AIR TAX to be paid by all those that produce HOT AIR every time they open their pieholes to yammer about this Climate Change poppycock AL GORE,LUARIE DAVID,STING,JOHN TRAVOLTA,BARACK OBAMA,GREENPEACE,ENVIROMENTAL DEFENSE, and all those tree guggers, gaia worshippers and Earthday celebrates
Justin Trudeau = Stephane Dion, but with less brains
How about a new NEP? Call it the NEP 2. But this time it will be more fair. Just like the 7% GST (goods and services tax) replaced the 13.5% MST (manufactures sales tax) was more fair. Take the tax on oil products and put it on electricity. More people use electricity than use oil products. Switching can be "revenue neutral" like the MST to GST was.
Maybe we can even copy the NEP program more closely and have a "made in Canada" price for electricity with the producers of electricity (Quebec, Ontario, BC hydro) providing and paying distribution costs.
Yeah, but he's got hair. Can't think of anything else at the moment.
And a "rolling stone" mother, who has "hair":)
