Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Men's Health magazine has made the argument that fats, carbs and protein are essential in any diet. The trick is to determine the ratio that's right for you. On the website, 'the art of manliness' there's a super writeup on the link between cholesterol and testosterone, a critical hormone linked to mens' health/vitality. To cut to the chase, think of cholesterol as baby testosterone. You have to have the former to have the latter.
It's all part of the feminist conspiracy to feminize N.American men. Eat meat, drink alcohol (in moderation), lift weights and follow the ideals of MGTOW. Life will be good. As the movie, 50 Shades of Grey has shown...women actually want men to dominate them...NOT kowtow to them.
Your appeal to authority is... Fifty Shades of Grey? Really?
heh, why not. women are apparently flocking to it.
Such a revelation would leave egg all over their face, too.
Hopefuly this will stop all those dumb warning labels Just contact CENTER of CONSUMER FREEDOM and find out
What @old white guy said.
I second that motion.
Pssst. Link not working.
Link broken
Martin Mull on eggs.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that this information (which has been widely known and discussed for decades) is coming into the public/regulatory sphere just as the patents on the "blockbuster" statin drugs expire...nah, couldn't be, that would mean the regulators and drug companies have been (heaven forbid) colluding...surely there's no correlation with sudden "life saving measures" to mandate compulsory vaccines to pad the pharma bottom line with state sponsored sales.
(ps, pharma is not an evil entity, or anthropomorphic superman. Its actions are dictated by its Boards of Directors, who are selected from its largest shareholders.)
Thankfully I have never paid attention to anything that has come out of Health Canada since they first determined that coffee was bad for me. I think that was in the early 70's. I have never regretted that decision and they have never disappointed me in their ability to flip flop on every wing nut study concerning what's good for me and how I should live on a daily basis. Just a legion of empire building government drones that have to say something in order to stay in the spotlight or their budget might be cut. Just like every government department and probably best equated with Indian Affairs.......only a bit cheaper.
"“The reason for the difference — why does one animal(rabbits) fall apart on the cholesterol diet — seemed like something that could be figured out,” Rudel said. “That was 40 or so years ago. We still don’t know what explains the difference.”
Duh, rabbits are herbivores.
Rats didn't have a cholesterol problem because they're omnivores, like we are.
What did these geniuses do to determine saturated fats were bad for humans, feel pork chops to rabbits?
so basically every bit of official dietary advice I've been hearing since I was a wee child is wrong/completely unproven in an even vague statistical terms, and 99% of dietary studies are revealed to be dubious science with insufficient controls.
Why should I believe ANYTHING they say this time?
Right then, can we disband the whole thing, and save some money?
I do not believe this "cholesterol is now safe" BS either.
My doctor friend tells me that it has been long known that saturated fat is safe to consume provided that it is done so without simple carbs being consumed at the same time as this oxidizes the fats in the blood making them sticky and gummy.
So meat and potatoes Bad. Meat and veggies Good. Hamburger and fries Bad. Hamburger lettuce tomatoes pickle onions Good (no bun).
I have always liked my men to be"manly". I think men should want to protect their families, their identity groups - not dominate, but not more concerned about their Soy Lattes. Real men have a sense of identity and are not put off by strong women - in fact like strong women to help be their partners in life and in the raising of families.
You misogynist old moronic dinosaurs crack me up. Good thing you are all dying off. Keep eating the hamburgers and fries so we can be rid of you!
Only kings, presidents, editors, and people with tapeworms have the right to use the editorial 'we.'

Settled science...
Indeed.
Not like you to participate in drive by trolling like @9:03. Usually you add something positive to the debate,Like @9:00. You're only running at 50% tonight. So tell us why we crack you up, or why it's good that we're dying off, or why you want to be rid of us ? Inquiring minds need to know !
It has been known for a number of years that egg consumption is not the pathway to heart desease.
This overdue change only shows that US government agencies are large and slow to turn.
@peterj--As Rush Limbaugh opines..."the Left will always telegraph who they're most afraid of by whom they attack the hardest." You'll never hear the likes of Iola attack "Pajama Boy"--that's how they think (or at least brainwashed to think by their Womenz Studies profs) they like their men. Until they actually meet the real deal--then they get all twitterpated and launch themselves crotch first at him. Note all the "Strong, independent Western women" (TM) flocking to the Middle East in order to literally serve ISIS.
Twenty-seven years ago I had my first heart attack. I was not allowed to leave the hospital until I received a briefing by a dietician. There were six of us in the room when she arrived. Her first words were: "Gentlemen, you have eaten your last egg, butter and excess fats contained in cooking oil. You should only cook with and eat canola oil. You can replace butter with Bacel."
One guy, of Italian extraction, asked about olive oil. The dietician said the research wasn't in yet but since it was a monounsaturated fat, he would be wise to avoid using it. His reply was to state that Italians had eaten olive oil for thousands of years and he guessed he was just going to die because he was going to continue eating olive oil.
She also told us we must never add salt to any food.
Today, butter is better than Bacel, eggs are okay and olive oil is great to eat.
Most of these restrictions are food fashions and seem to go in and out of popularity at regular intervals.
And don't forget to add the salt.
