CBC:
Greg Essensa, the chief electoral officer of Ontario, says there were "apparent contraventions" to the Act in the Liberals offering a former candidate incentives to not run in the election.Essensa says since Elections Ontario has no mandate to conduct prosecutions he has referred the matter to the Ministry of the Attorney General.

A.K.A.....Passing the Buck and Kicking the Can Down the Road.
Anyone else not surprised?
It's enough to make a Tin Pot Dictator proud.
"Elections Ontario has no mandate to conduct prosecutions he has referred the matter to the Ministry of the Attorney General."
That would be the fox in charge of the chicken coop scenario. Just perfect.
Corrupt corrupt corrupt.
Just like old times...
Good times in liberal-land
Is this a new low for Liberals? Sarc./ For years they've been telling me I can't believe my lying eyes, and now they're saying I can't believe my lying ears! Liberals, the gift that keeps on giving, unfortunately Ontario voters, like their American counterparts, swallowed the whole bottle of snake oil that was presented to them.
Are you sure that's the real CBC website?
Take some time to look at the comments, they have released quite a few disparaging the MSM for keeping this story buried. Never seen so many complaints against the CBC allowed in their comments before(not that I'm a frequent visitor there).
I comment there now that they've got their wish with Sun News and you don't have to join facebook.
''...and it's been referred to the Ministry of the Attorney General.''
Boy, that's courageous. For sure a full investigation and, no doubt, prosecution will follow.
Sure it will...
Why didnt he just couch it in some obvious but deniable metaphor.....like say "comfy fur"
Since we all knew Wynn and company handled this in such a sleazy way the outcome is not news.
This thread is quickly becoming about CBC who would not cover the story before the election, and now have it buried in their 'Toronto" section...because surely no one outside of Toronto matters. Nothing exists outside Toronto.
And nothing outside Toronto matters to CBC readers.
Sudbury byelection was a view into the depth of criminal malfeasance and corruption of this government and its party syndicate.
The OPP have on their plate 2 investigations which can elevate them to a level of public respect once again after the the Caledonia rule of law abomination - will they rise to the occasion as the guardians of the people or continue downward as servants of malfeasant scum.
Is this the same Ministry of Attorney General that made a deal with the paedophile Ben Levin that had him plead guilty for a couple of charges. Is it possible that this was a sweetheart deal designed to avoid a trial and possible embarrassment to the LPO? Ahh where is Sun when you need them?
Rod Blagojevich went to jail for 14 years for "Pay To Play" Wynne and her stooges won't do 14 seconds for "Pay To Not Play".
If the Wynne Liberals get away with this Ontario can stand alone as a Tin Pot Dictatorship. Even without this latest scandal they ruling like Commie dictators, what's good for them is good for us, forcing their will on the people, legislating us from cradle to grave.
Our local country AM radio station covered the story at 7am this morning. AM 920, CKNX in Wingham, Ontario.
I listened to the CBC news at 8am on my way in to work this morning, to see what they would say. I was absolutely flabbergasted -- the CBC hourly news MENTIONED NOTHING. We heard about British soccer players behaving badly (in Paris, no less), and the sad story of how winter can kill a toddler in Toronto.. but the CBC news on the hour BURIED this major story.
What a bunch of hosers.
Forgot to mention, in my previous comment -- the CBC headline of the day, instead of being about Wynne's latest troubles -- their big story of the day: "RCMP not spending their full budget".
Really..
Seems the RCMP can't spend every penny allocated (due to staffing issues). And children are at risk! Child exploitation has gone up EXPONENTIALLY (that's the word they used). STOP THE PRESSES.
Again, nothing about Wynne's government facing charges for bribery.
If the Wynne cabal doesn't get charged with bribery then bribery doesn't exist as we know it, there's no such thing.
What more evidence do they need that could top what's already been presented to prove a case of bribery?
What are the chance that someone on the Sudbury Police Services Board has any connection to this investigation?
What kind of influence could he have on the outcome?
One of the people recorded by Olivier is Gerry Lougheed Jr, a proud member of the Sudbury Police services Board.
