It's hard to top last night's tips music so I'll have to dip into the ol' bookmarks for the third-stringers: Here's Frank Peter Zimmermann, accompanied by an unidentified pianist, performing the Largo from Bach's Violin Sonata in G major, BWV 1019.
The comments are open, as always, for your Reader Tips.

I have never considered bombardier to be a good investment - so political are its activities - but i didn't realize that it had collapsed as badly as it has:
http://business.financialpost.com/2015/02/03/bombardier-inc-bleeds-investors-as-credibility-issues-mount-ive-given-up-hope/#__federated=1
A failure of bombardier would be a big blow to the ego of the Quebec business community and the province as a whole - especially after the corruption scandals.
At last, some couth and culture. It sure beats a half dozen bitches in heat. (Apologies to the females of the canine persuasion.)
I can offer no critique of last night's "musical" selection - my dogs loved it! They stampeded into the room to see the source of the racket close up and the male had his head cocked in interest of what he was sure were howling b!tches in heat (he only got two parts of that right).
It's every one else's fault. It sure can't be all that good socialism.

A black bear is seen stumbling in a field. Oh my, it falls down. It is in bad shape. What to do ???
I'd grab a rifle and put it back into the food chain quickly and efficiently.
BUT, if I could make a dollar off of it, say if I ran a charity that was supported by the taxpayer, well, total different story. That bear must be saved.
Who knows, that bear may be the next Beethoven !

The CBC even have a map up that shows the route that this guy drove to 'save' the bear.
Your tax dollars at work.
Bombardier was deep into the LPC. Any surprise they are on the skids, with the LPC so far away from power? They were totally dependent on Fiberal largesse
Bombardier took a really big hit after 9/11 when the stock halved in value. It has never really recovered from that without Chretien around to funnel money to it.
Finally - some truth about what happened between the Alberta PCs and Wildrose Party.

I killed myself laughing , that is the funniest thing i have seen in a few motnhs. My goodness. I hope kate puts this up. That is just to funny. and i campaigned with rob.
I remember, lo these many years ago, when Bombardier shares were over $30 and people I knew on Bay Street kept telling me I should own some, as it was a solid blue chip and should be a cornerstone of my portfolio. I demurred, saying, if they're so great, how come they need a steady stream of big fat government subsidies in order to keep the lights on? Now the stock is $3 and the company still doesn't know how to turn a profit. Oddly, I no longer hear anyone telling me to buy the stock now that it is so cheap. Stay away from subsidy miners (auto companies, for instance)and stick with real companies that make real profits. Mind you, with Shiny Pony bleating about the "infrastructure deficit", can Japanese-style "bullet trains to nowhere" be that far off, assuming the grits win the election? That could renew Bomber's fortunes quickly with a new river of subsidies.

I remember that day vividly. If you're ever in Clear Lake Iowa there's a restaurant there that's just full of items memorializing the incident.

"The coming age of power cannibalism…Germany on the verge of committing energy suicide"
"Oversupply Risks Destabilization
Germany’s “Energiewende” Leading To Suicide By Cannibalism. Huge Oversupply Risks Destabilization"
"Power cannibalism has already started
The result is a grid which at times is so oversupplied with power that something will have to give. Fossil fuel power plants have been throttled to the point where they are no longer profitable and many power companies have started mothballing them, so quickly in fact that Germany had to pass legislation forcing producers to keep their fossil plants on stand-by, and to do so even if they lost money. Even the reliable “classic” renewable power sources – e.g. hydropower – are starting to suffer because most are not supported by government schemes."
