The only example I can think of for unconditional surrender for a terrorist or terrorist insurgency is the Sri Lankans on the Tamil Tigers.

Pose it to the SDA community, is there another example of this. ANd does ISIS even qualify since they are now trying to be a State actor, so is it about vanquishing them.

The US obtained a temporary stunning victory over the Taliban. The US will always win an outright guns a blazing battle (its what they do very very well). However they were not able to obtain a breaking of the moral spirit of the Taliban, which is what gets you the peace you need.

So is it possible to achieve unconditional surrender in the short or long run? How do you get ISIS into a situation where the breaking of their spirit can happen?

As I posited below on the Folkfest thread the dialogue that we should be having is not about bombing them to oblivion in the ME but curtailing the spread that is happening day and daily in Western society. Today's Muslims were trained and taught by the remnants of the Nazi SS after the Second World War. The majority of Germans were not Nazis, they were cowed into submission by the zealots, and lied to by the German press which was controlled by Joseph Goebbels. The German Lebensraum of the Thirties will be as a test tube is to a cauldron if the West doesn't act before it is too late. As the Muslim population expands beyond the five to ten percentile we can expect to see more problems as is occurring in Europe. It would seem the appeasers within the hierarchy of today's Western Leaders learned nothing from Mr. Chamberlain.

Imagine the world outrage of screaching from the media if this had been a kitty or a dog. But it is but a human, probably a father, husband or another good person only following orders and trying to do his part to remove the world of garbage. I seem to recall the Germans, the Italians and the Japanese giving unconditional surrenders in the 1940's. Japan after a couple of mushrooms grew. Pretty expensive though. We're still paying for it in a zillion small ways, every day.

I don't know the answers. However I will say that the King of Jordan does seem to understand the nature of his adversaries. Barack Hussein Obama by contrast does not seem to care, his arrogant self assurance that he can condescendingly talk these people down (or buy them) is really rather pathetic.

No ISIS prisoner, save one, should be kept alive as it is too much of a risk to spare them.

We can be fairly sure that the uncertainty will only last until something major happens in the west. Either a mass killing or a attack on infrastructure that leaves no doubt we are at war. Sadly I feel that day is getting closer because the enemy knows full well that the easiest picking will be while Obama is in office. A Chamberlain is much easier to deal with than a Churchill.
