Here, "remote" means 300 miles from Oslo;

A court in Oslo on Monday authorised police to banish Iraqi Kurd "hate preacher" Mullah Krekar to a remote Norwegian village.

The mullah, 58, who has been living in Norway since 1991, founded the radical Islamist group Ansar al-Islam.

Lucky people of Kyrksaeteroera.

At the headline I wondered why they didn't banish him to anywhere outside the borders of Norway, but of course he is a refugee "at risk" of being killed if he is returned to Iraq. So although it turns out this is Norway's temporary measure while they consider how to implement an earlier decision to deport him as a threat to their national security, at least they have decided they want to be rid of him. Who else will take him? I'd suggest they parachute him into that part of Iraq now under control of ISIS. As to his "right to a family life" they should issue temporary passports to his immediate family and tell them they are free to find their own way to him.

What a wonderful place to disappear in. Or should I say, to disappear him.

Would this not be considered cruel and inhumane punishment? What's next, the frozen hell of the Artic Circle region? Really, he should be in Iraq, a nice warm place filled with his kind of people, murderous inbred retards.

Reminds me of that MacLean and MacLean classic "Keep it over there Lord". Keeping someone like that closer to Oslo might push more voters into conservatism which is bad for the Euro-narrative.

That's really harsh. I hope they gave him an adequate living allowance and medical benefits.

Is Svalbard full? Let him go preach hatred to the polar bears.

So he'll starve to death the next Ramadan that occurs during the 24-hours-a-day sunlight period. Sounds good to me.

Good idea but why the need for the parachute?

They can't deport this sack of organic fertilizer because something bad might happen to him. The Norwegians were once Vikings, the scourge of mankind. WTF happened?

Wonder how rural Norwegians feel about that. They are in banishment territory.

Imagine if "punishment" in Canada was to be sent "outside of city greater than 250,000"

Don't get why he cant be deported. This didn't solve the problem and may have made it worse.

Now if you watch the series Lillehammer, maybe it all gets taken of.

With this article and the latest 'lone wolf' attack in France, coupled with the latest outrage by the Muslim community concerning Canada's new security law maybe it is time we brought back the Second World War internment camps. The Liberal government of the time had no compunction in moving all Japanese, immigrants and native born, into internment camps under the guise of "it's for their own safety". Those interned had never committed the acts of these 'lone wolves' that are putting our society at risk. So if we, as a society that cares so much for human rights as the Liberals and NDP espouse, really cared for our own human rights then maybe it's time to re-open the internment camps. If we have to accept all the new Islamic refugees, if we have to acquiesce to the demands of Muslims advocating Sharia law, if we have to amend our eating habits, if we have to serve penance because someone takes offence over some cartoons in a newspaper then perhaps we have reached the point where a hard and fast decision has to be made. We either relinquish what makes us Canadian or we advocate the return of internment camps and voluntary emigration for those who would welcome a return to the land of their ancestors and to the 7th century. Perhaps we should thank the Norwegians for giving us the opportunity to open this avenue of discussion.

Maybe banishment was some kind of Viking punishment? Not so bad now with indoor plumbing and shops full of herring.

To keep him relatively calm until he is out of the aircraft. I didn't say the parachute has to be properly packed.

Seeing as ISIS just burned that captured Jordanian fighter alive,I am beginning to believe making statements on the unacceptability of such actions is no longer sufficient to dissuade these "Holy warriors of the Religion of Peace".

Instead of exiling this cleric,Norwegian authorities should suggest his remarks are "unacceptable", then shoot the SOB, accidentally.

And in the ME, perhaps it's time for De Prez to draw a line in the sand, and escalate his rhetoric to "completely unacceptable".

Then napalm the f***ers into oblivion.

And nothing so far from the UN HUMAN RIGHTS freakos

What happens if he leaves that 1-dog village? Can they shoot him?

ALWAYS pack your own chute, ya know?

I'd be OK with this if they had placed 3 yurts atop an inaccessible mountain, called it a remote village and dumped him there.

"Wonder how rural Norwegians feel about that. They are in banishment territory."

No, they're home. -He's- banished. Knowing Norwegians, they'll ignore that guy so hard he'll feel like he's in an isolation cell in Dante's 9th Circle.

Come on, small town, northern Norway, no nice Liberals to hang out with? That guy's f-ed.

Looks good on him. Hope they keep him there for a -really-long-time-.

Norway should just simply deport him back to the middleeast and his followers as well

I can see the report now, "victim went out onto to the ice to do some fishing, his body has not yet been discovered"
