Les MacPherson:

Barrette is Quebec's minister of health and also a medical doctor. His specialty is radiology, so he would know better than most about the value of an alternative to smoking.

"It really works," he said in an interview with the CBC. "If you speak with doctors in the field, it's what we can call a breakthrough."

The CBC interview in question.

Excellent article, but Barette is only a radiologist, not a respiratory specialist, one of whom can surely be bribed to spout the government's line.

The issue is taxes, as in De Gummint don't get enough taxes from E-smokes, only 12% HST.

Once they figure out the propaganda for taxing the hell out of E's, they'll suddenly change their tune, and you'll be able to buy E's at twice the price of cigarettes.

WHAT'S THE POINT
Of having power if you don't abuse it?

From DemocracyRules

It will come to be "that which is not forbidden is compulsory".

Government must ban e-cigarettes since they can’t be made on Indian reserves and compete with real cigarettes that are.

Is there usually that much smoke with vaping as shown in the newspaper report?

"Vaping" with harmless organic flavorings - is a great way to get un-hooked from gummint tobacco monopolies/taxation and cheat big pharma and the medi-whores of pointless costly treatments for lung ailments

3 big cash cows will not go down without a no holds barred propaganda scrap

Ontarislobovians please take note how premier two-moms jumped on the outlaw vaping con almost by reflex - bankrupt whores don't want to see tobacco revenues decrease

andycanuck - it's not smoke it's vapor ... much like seeing your breath on a cold day.

And yes, there is usually that much or more. However, we could be sitting in adjacent shitters and you would never know I'm vaping.

It's not like modern public health authorities' first concern is public health. The Progressive "social justice" agenda comes way ahead of that:

Thanks, ural, I thought it looked like alot so I wondered if extra "smoke" had been Photoshopped into the photo the way news services have done in the past for steam ("pollution!!!1!!") coming from e.g. nuke plants. I had the wrong impression that the vapour wasn't very visible. And I know it's not like so-called secondhand smoke.

it is time to ban every bureaucrat in Canada. no, lets expand that ban every idiot who thi9nks they have the right to tell their fellow man how they should live.

Hmm ...

Ban vaping to keep tobacco away from kids
Legalize marijuana to keep it away from kids

Welcome to Progressivia, where common sense is a rumour.
