If I had a TV it would have looked like the Sun News channel.

Bummer. Justin Trudeau NOW looks a lot more likely to win the next election than he did a mere 24 hours ago. I need a drink ... or three ... and a new country to live in.

I'll wait for the official announcement, rather than propaganda from competitors...

If true it'll be unfortunate, not that I watched much tv in the first place.

Back to Fox News for me.

If true, that really sucks. SUN News is (was?) the ONLY source for raw news. I NEVER watch CBC and rarely bother with the other three left-wing channels for my news. Now with Postmedia scooping up the SUN newspaper chain, there is virtually no conservative voice remaining.
I think I'm gonna puke.

The envirofascists will be most gratified to hear it. Certainly The Globe and Mail isn't going to ask any serious questions about them.

This will have zero impact on the election. Too bad if true though.

The key sentence was this one.

Once it lost the bid for mandatory carriage, it was all over.

So Sun News lost 46 million over 3 years according to the article. Over those same years the CBC has lost, what, 3.6 billion? That would be the same time period, right? And that is what me and thee the taxpayers, have funded/pissed away on the 'Motherfncorp' over the same period!
It seems I pay/waste a lot of tax money on something I get absolutely no benefit from.

Great. Now I go back to not watching ANY Canadian news, just like pre-Sun. Truth be told, I watch TheBlaze online more than I watch any news on TV. I know more about American politics than I do Canadian goings-on at this point. But I did tune in to Ezra and Brian fairly regularly. Will miss their excellent commentary.

A sad, sad day. The best journalism on TV. RIP Sun News Network.

Their programming was garbage of the lowest common denominator. In the end, it makes me proud that our country just didn't give a rats *ss about tuning into such drivel. Sucks that people are losing jobs...most of them...pretty happy to see Ezra unemployed though. Cue the right wing whining about how the CRTC never gave them a chance. Good riddance.

For sale one used tv. 4 years old. Only one channel ever used on it. No need for tv any more. It is a sad day.

What a shame. Back to left wing loons and the brainwashed crap they push as news. No balanced reporting left anywhere in Canada. Back to Fox when I want both sides of a story. I'll miss Ezra, Adler and Lilley but they'll turn up somewhere else.

A moment to truly weep for this country. This network was the only voice in the media that spoke for a great many conservative Canadians. It was hamstrung from the start by the CRTC. I cannot believe the numbers that have been released re. the viewing public. To the trolls from the CBC and other media that are rejoicing tonight, you are dancing on the coffin of democracy. When opposing voices are shuttered from public debate the battle for freedom is lost to tyranny. This station was a light in the blackness that is about to descend in this country. Again a moment to weep.

It was a nice try but it needed to be a) interesting, b) well produced, c) Internet savvy, d) out of Toronto. It might also have benefited from a business plan.

Sorry to see Sun go but it was not clever enough to survive.

There is no longer any media in this Country that will NOT protect Justin Trudeau and every faux pas he makes.

Can't say I'm surprised. When they first started I commented that their production values were straight out of Melonville. Well, the odd time I tuned in I didn't notice any improvement. Are we losing much? I don't think so. A conservative voice that can't draw the conservative audience, let alone appeal to independents, just isn't much of a loss.

There is a ray of sunshine out of this.

If not for SNN how many had a reason to pay for cable?

The smartest woman in the world reminded me this morning if not for SNN we wouldn't have cable....if you look at the overall viewers of cable it appears many are deciding to cut the cable.

Remind anyone gloating about SNN failing because of lack of viewers with the question; so why does CBC need a billion a year to stay in business?

Well, the Laurentian Elite win another one. For me it is back to Fox News. I will continue to mute the sound on Fox whenever a Global or CBC ad is aired.

How did Harper let this happen? He emphasizes way too much police powers and too little basic conservatism. He willingly pays a $ billion annually for CBC but can't guarantee a conservative channel basic airtime granted everyone else. It looks like his CRTC appointments were as foul as his Supreme Court appointments.
