First we need right teacher and professors then we need mandatory courses for young kid how to clean, hygene clean bed know law orders traffic laws when pass street ethic pscycology society manage money freindship kindness behaviour in public how to cook for yourself safty aids. Just give math formula to head of young kid does not make them somebody in future they need to learn main point goals ins sucess happiness in life. Um, no need to wonder about it at all. You only have to be white to know how this feels. I'm a woman, and I've had to sit through lectures about my complicity in every evil thing whites have ever done, including stuff that happened long before I was born.
Also as a Christian, I've had to sit and listen to professors rant on about how Christians did all this awful stuff like the Crusades and Inquisition blah blah blah, but apparently Muslims & Hindus & whatever never did anything bad ever. (Mind you, this was pre-9/11.)
Jeff - sometimes they have to. An fair few universities strive for a "rounded" curriculum, which means that engineering and science students of all sexes are forced to take arts courses. Naturally, they all strive to find the "easier" courses, as they are burdened with serious lab time (and research) as well as the normal science classes. Even then, some will find themselves stuck in these classes, sneered at as Philistines (and worse), and competing with "real" arts students for marks.
A "rounded" curriculum in the other direction? Forget it. The precious little snowflakes who are arts students are given special courses - off limits to the science students - with no labs. Do they ever have to take a "real" science course? No way.
As a science grad and technologist (engineering type) it has always amused me the broad spectrum of humanity that go to a university and then expect the real world to reflect the gibberish they fed upon for four years. I personally don't care id you slept with ok's 300 men, or only a dozen, or a few lesbians or first nations, second nations or third nations, the whole "I am a victim" thing doesn't wash with me.
My advice is "Suck it up buttercup." That degree in feministica and a dollar sixty will get you a medium double double at Timmies and not much else.
