About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Really? Front page drudge that a robot attacked a woman?
I guess "Woman sleeping on floor gets hair stuck in vacuum" doesn't sell.
Luckily for the woman, Brian Williams was in a following robot and was able to call 911 ...
Hope they pepper sprayed and tased her first, I heared that she was a "liberal"!
Sometimes I wonder if certain Asian tech trends aren't widespread in North America because we're too stupid to use it. This isn't one of those times.
I'm OK, I shave my head.
Well I guess she lost some sleep over this. It smacks of the I Robot movie a bit.
A hair-raising attempted abduction, to be sure.
some one who had one of these left it running while she went out shopping. Also the dog was left in the house, dog took a dump.................
That's a simple task, vacuuming the floor ... time to try something more adventurous ... like drive a car.
They need more powerful motors and a chipper blade so the machine can't be prevented from doing it's job.
I was attacked by a rose bush yesterday so I feel her pain.
......OK, maybe not. nothing beats being attacked by a robot vaccuum cleaner.
What appears to be an insignificant household mishap is actually the opening shot in a coming war. Think of the Korean woman as Archduke Ferdinand and the robot vacuum as Gavrilo Princip.
In the meantime, don't let your talking appliances get lippy with you.
This creates a new crime - Hoovericide.
It would have to be something that can suck and blow at the same time that destroys civilization as we know it.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of South Korea in this their most desperate time of need.
Well, that sucks!
I for one welcome our vacuum-robot overlords.......
It begins...
"They need more powerful motors and a chipper blade so the machine can't be prevented from doing it's job."
If they did that, the robots couldn't plausibly deny any allegation that they did it on purpose.
Black robot vacuums get all the bad raps ... why is that lady racist?
From the country that gave the world the Hyundai Pony! That's what you get for sleeping on the floor.
We love our Roomba. Our cat was put down last September and this mini R2-D2 is still picking up her hair! You never realize how much filth you've lived in until you rip out the carpet and go with hardwood! Dust bunnies like tumbleweeds!
Eskimo - glad to hear your cat didn't kill you. Life on the edge ... a cat and a robot vacuum ... who needs a doctor to commit suicide?

Godzilla!
C'mon, u know all Asians look alike.
Eskimo, there's gotta be a shelter *somewhere* for rescue dust bunnies.
Mamba, yes, it begins...
South Koreans are imbued at birth with gelotophobia. It used to be called 'saving face,' but now it's called 'saving scalp.'
YES!
In South Korea, many people sleep on the floor and with in-floor heating, it makes for a nice, cozy slumber.
This is what Skynet has been waiting for.
Woman gets nose stuck in CD player
The roomba was hungry again an hour later.
Mamba, if you're going to go Hollywood you have to go Mortal Kombat:
Hiroyuki Tagawa: "It has begun!"
Roomba: "Fatality."
I'm not sure you should even have heard of things like that.
