Azhar had a plan when he first arrived at Islamabad’s infamous Red Mosque seminary: behave like a visitor and build trust very slowly. By making it “quite clear” he was a BBC journalist, he thinks those at the seminary were “pleased” to have a platform from someone potentially “sympathetic to what they were teaching,” he told host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani on Wednesday.
Soon after, however, Azhar realized that instead of teaching a “softer” type of Islam which is traditional in Pakistan, the Red Mosque was teaching Wahhabi Islam, a much more socially conservative type of Islam from Saudi Arabia.
Only in the thought process of a BBC journo could this even begin to make sense.

Thats the same softer moderate islam that pakistanis in the UK have been indoctrinated with is it, the ones that, you know congregate in “grooming” gangs, that plot tube bombings and “honour” murder, this is that Softer islam is it?
And just so that we know, perhaps he is trying to insinuate that the acid attacks on woman, the killing of children, of Christians, Hindus and Buddhists this is all relatively new in Pakistan is it? Never happened until the Saudi money showed up? That was when exactly? Before the Russians invaded Afghanistan? Before partition from India? When exactly did this softer islam exist?

Personally interesting though all these conjectures are, I’ve already made my mind up and for me any type, any strength or any persuasion of Islam is just incompatible in any form with my life, my values and indeed with anything that i care for or about.
Your last sentence sums up my views precisely. Generally speaking, Christians, Catholics, Orthodox, Hindus, Jews, and other religions accommodate and tolerate each other in today’s world. The religion of Atheism, especially if it is of a Marxist bent, is not quite so tolerant, as it seems to want to eliminate or marginalize any other faith, and we have plenty of evidence of that in the last century. Islam is the only religion that wants to subdue all other faiths through the use of the sword and rape.

Not so sure that all forms of Pakistani Islam are “soft”
As for Wahhabiism, well proof again that humans are human and respond to incentives. Wahhabiism is well funded, lots of money and resources so guess what, it attracts people who want to work in and with and organization that has money and resources. This is over and above the fact that it is evangelical and charismatic in its nature as an ideology.
Not to draw comparisons, because the ideologies are different, but to some degree this is how the RC Church cemented itself. The Church was well funded, the priesthood well trained and provided schooling and social services. The places of worship were prominent and looked powerful and wealthy.
Once again, not comparing the religions just the tactics that are used to promote and grow.
Islam is not a religion it’s a cult.
When a muslims can slaughter and murder with impunity and with the blessings of their shariah adherent gov’t rulers…it’s a death cult. Barbaric instructions are straight out of the koran.

In a cult, there’s a guy at the top who knows it’s all fake.
In a religion, that guy is dead.
Same flavor of Islam they favor in the Holy Mosque at Mecca, pal. And probably financed by the Saudis, if by roundabout means.
It’s not unusual, it’s not a minority, it’s an EVIL religion. Wake up.
