Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
CBC, April 17, 2012 (1:10 mark): This Hour has 22 Minutes star Mary Walsh mocks Rob Ford and advises him to "put the plug in the jug".
CBC, January 28, 2015: "Drawing from her personal struggle with alcoholism, the This Hour Has 22 Minutes star speaks frankly about the loneliness and isolation of addiction, and why stigma hasn't stopped her from speaking out."
Big tip 'o the hat to Mike.

"Loneliness and isolation of addiction" is BS, if we are talking about alcohol. Drink and a hundred will be happy to drink with you. Sobriety can be much more lonely.
Dear Mary, Step 8. Just saying.
Make it a double shot of hypocrisy...on the rocks.
Just another self loathing leftie, they take great pleasure in making fun of anyone who thinks normal eg. people who work and vote conservative, but how dare you all laugh at this CBC fattie. Chortle chortle
Projections a bitch eh Mary.
You mean she wasn't really Wonder Woman ? How depressing. Need a drink now.
Let she without sin cast the first stone
Never could stand her and her "Princess Marg" persona. I miss the Royal Canadian Air Farce. Now that was funny stuff.
cbc never fails to lower the bar on civility, so being hypocritical is a cake walk for these elites.
If I want to comment on what cbc is spewing, I go via yahoo news threads, cbc can't delete there.
Yahoo news threads use to be just awful and I rarely went on them, but of late people who can't comment at sites like cbc are going there.
Still idiots of every stripe, but lots more of rational people - and the tone has changed, a lot more people are fed up and speaking out.
Mary Walsh - persevere ... best of luck in getting better.
I'm "olde" enough to remember when CBC had promoted Canadian culture and traditions and was a force for unifying this far flung Dominion of Canada.
Now it's become a caricature of itself, in some negative parallel Q universe.
Why is it that all the great CBC stars are all hypocrites? So fast to capitalize on someone else's misfortunes, why they have the same. Mary hasn't been funny in years,if ever. Now we know why.
OMFG. Catch the comments in the second article. The lefties are doing the usual ego circle jerk- you GO, girl!!!!! Ohhh Mary...your just so SMART!!!!
It's sad. I started wondering about the CBC when this fat pig made her debut on the CBC. When that sneering flimp, Rick Mercer became the poster boy for Canadian satire I just gave up.
I am old enough to remember when the CBC actually employed people with a sense of humour. Wayne and Schuster were corny but always worth a chuckle. The guys that did Four On The Floor were okay and would occasionally give you laughing cramps. John Binder and Super Dave Osborne could wipe the stage with Codco. The Kids In The Hall were weapons grade comics that could even put the run on the British Monty Python when it came to toxic humour.
What happened? When did all these a-holes take over the CBC...and why did we let them? Where do they come from? And who is their audience?
CBC displays the arrogance and hypocrisy of the Prog midset - you and I (or any non-prog)are lowly addicts to be mocked but when they are weak and addicted they are "victims" who need a group hug - frikkin' retards.
How much of this institutionalized hypocrisy do we have to endure before the masses abandon the Prog dogmas.
Hey Mary you big fat cow, put the plug in the jug, STFU, and piss off.
well bless her 'airy armpits , she be a boozer
1st TO liberal: "There goes that crazy Mayor"
2nd TO liberal: "He's such a drunk, we need to get rid of him."

it is difficult to be funny when one is angry and bitter.
a drunk-aholic picking on a drunk-aholic, what's this world cuming to
How gunned was she when she performed her highly regarded 'ambush skits'?
What would "Dicky Duff" say??
Somehow I have difficulty feeling sorry for her after all the disgusting crap she has thrown at conservatives.
As a human, I wish her success in shaking the monkey.
OT, if perchance Mercer comes on screen while I am watching TV, I switch the channel.
I don't watch the CBC. Saves a lot of time and angst. I don't have to worry about this person.
I agree that "Air Farce" was the last really humorous thing they had. I quit after it went off the air.
Wait, CBC has "stars"? I'm thinking not. If she hadn't attacked Rob Ford in his driveway, I'd have no idea who Mary Walsh is.
I have to say that from a lifetime of living here in Canaduh, the only show I remember from CBC is Friendly Giant. The only reason we watched that was because it was a seven channel universe back in the 1960s, and Friendly Giant was the only kids show on in its time slot.
CBC is a wasteland of unwatchable dreck populated by drunks, pervs and drug addicts. It's never been much good, and now it's simply destructive. It needs to be dismantled and sold off for parts. The sooner the better.
I see a pattern developing.
First Gomeshi revelations
Then Amanda Lang
now Mary Walsh admitting she has addiction issues
Who is going to be the next high profile CBC person to have a public spot light shone on their personal failings or misdeeds?
"CBC is a wasteland of unwatchable dreck populated by drunks, pervs and drug addicts"
Truer words were never written. Now I'm perfectly OK with an organization employing idiots, losers, hypocrites and generally untalented and useless wastes of oxygen all the while producing crap that very few people tune into. What I'm not OK with is the fact that the taxpayer must keep it on life support or it would rot away within weeks.
After PMSH attains his next majority, he simply must cut the umbilical cord immediately. A billion plus dollars per annum would go a long way in alleviating many of Canada's current woes. Anyone who would argue differently is completely bereft of common sense.
"Who is going to be the next high profile CBC person to have a public spot light shone on their personal failings or misdeeds?"
This week on the Rick Mercer Report RM promoted a potato chip
company as being family owned when in fact they are owned by a food conglomerate.
Why is the CBC in the business of giving free advertising to multi million dollar companies?
I wish both of them all the success in the world fighting their addictions. I also wish that Mary Walsh was an ex CBC staffer best remembered for her severely unfunny former show 22 Minutes.
She had a cameo on Republic of Doyle as a washed-up, alcoholic bar owner sleeping with a 20-year-old hustler. I remember thinking how surprisingly nuanced, low-key and believable her performance was. But then, apparently it wasn't a performance.
She gets a pass for making fun of RF because he wasn't one of "them". If he'd been prog scum they would have protected him to the last.
"If she hadn't attacked Rob Ford in his driveway, I'd have no idea who Mary Walsh is."
So there you go.
Mary Walsh ambushed Rob Ford at his home to make herself relevant.
She isn't funny.
I watch 'The Dragons' Den,' but nothing else on CBC.
"How much of this institutionalized hypocrisy do we have to endure before the masses abandon the Prog dogmas."
Not in our lifetimes.
She grace'd Stephen Harper with this one a few years back... called him an "arse- licking satan".
Too bad y'know. She'd be funny if she kept her mouth shut..... go figure.
What is it with the self pity parade in the last week or two? Apparently everybody who is famous is bat shit crazy and we are supposed to feel sorry for them. I don't get it.
Yep, "Bizarre", which ran from 1980-1986 WAS the best Canadian comedy show,on CTV though, not CBC,and both the stars,John Byner and Bob Einstein, were Americans.
SCTV was Global, and had some real comedic heavyweights(NPI)such as John Candy and Martin Short,Rick Moranis, Canadians who are actually funny comedians. The RCAF was funny at times, but after a while became like so many other alleged "comedy" shows on CBC, Liberal biased and unfunny.
Mary Walsh, was simply NOT funny, and neither is Rick Mercer, both play to l/Liberal types by dissing C/conservatives and Americans, and the libs laugh along as if they are funny.
Mary's suffering from alcoholism? Tough sh**,Mary. I know many WW2 veterans who also suffered the same affliction due to PTSD, but lived useful lives and didn't slop at the public trough their entire life.
And all YOUR booze,Mary, was paid for by the Canadian taxpayer!
Don't forget Smith & Smith that was produced by CHCH-TV in Hamilton. And of course its famous spin-off, the Red Green Show.
