Watch for tomorrow's headline: Weather forecasting more difficult due to climate change

And even with a big blizard coming intellectuial eggheads like James Hanson and political blabbermouths like Al Gore will blame it all on Global Warming

Global warming ate my homework...

The end result of letting the "We're all gonna die!, tomorrow, media run your lives, and voting in pansie mayors will result in this, look at city councils in Calgary, Vancouver etc.

Speaking of weather, I recently noticed that the world's most extreme heat records are being broken, not so much because it is getting hotter, but because we are now able to travel back into the past and lower the old ones.

The former highest official temperature on Earth, held for 90 years by ‘Aziziya, Libya, was de-certified by the WMO (World Meteorological Organization) in January 2012 as the record for the world's highest surface temperature (this temperature of 57.8 °C (136 °F), registered on 13 September 1922, is currently considered to have been a recorder's error). (Wikipedia)

The record for the hottest day then reverted to Death Valley, California, July 10, 1913 at 56.7 °C (134 °F) but due to global warming we really can't have the hottest recorded temperature occurring over a hundred years ago, can we? So back into the past we must go.

Christopher C. Burt, the weather historian writing for Weather Underground who shepherded the Libya reading's 2012 disqualification, believes that the 1913 Death Valley reading is "a myth", and is at least four or five degrees Fahrenheit too high, as do other weather historians Dr. Arnold Court and William Taylor Reid. Burt proposes that the highest reliably recorded temperature on Earth is still at Death Valley, but is instead 53.9 °C (129 °F) recorded five times: 20 July 1960, 18 July 1998, 20 July 2005, 7 July 2007, and 30 June 2013. At any rate, the world can now see that the NYC mayor is a totalitarian thug.

Consider this.

In a boarding school in a communist country in the second half or twentieth century, we had a lecture on getting used to or pre-army training.

We had to do these silly things, whatever those were. The purpose of which was not so much as to accomplish something, more to do it without thinking that you are told to do silly things and not questioning them so in future they can tell you to do this and that without a thought of why.

This de Blasio character obviously studied the collected works of Marx, Lenin and Stalin.

You see, when the mass media masturbators train the brains of the populus to conform to everything that the “government” tells you, you should resist if the thing is stupid.

Let us see what happened.

A wise guy somewhere said that it is going to snow a lot of snow. The politician showing initiative took it and ordered, ordered is the key word here, citizens of a largest American city to stay home. Just think about that part, ordered American city to stay home.
The mass media took it from there and masturbated citizen’s minds pointing that the end of the world is near.

It is so easy to control massive population with a little snow.

One day in not too distant future, the politicians will shut down a city because boy scouts will demand running water, toilet and heat in their tents.

It boggles the mind.

I'm rather dismayed by the rush to judgement shown on this site. Surely by now we've learned that while based on the raw data collected over the last day or so and the human experience of direct observation this isn't the worst blizzard ever, once the data are smoothed, homogenized, and adjusted this will certainly go down as Blockbuster Blizzard Barney the absolutely worstest, suffocatingest coldest blizzard ever and therefore proof positive of global climate changing warming disruption.
Simps!

Back when I was a kid (we took a covered wagon to school) we were all sent home early because of blizzard bearing down on us. I walked home with my jacket unzipped it was so warm out. The next morning we all went to school as normal since there had been no blizzard anywhere in the entire province.

I see that some unfortunate kid died while snow tubing during the storm. No doubt this death will be included in the total deaths attributed to climate change.

97% of meteorologists (scientists) agreed that a blizzard was coming and drastic action was needed.

Its funny how things work. A meteorologist can't forecast the weather a day ahead with any level of precision but other weather-associated scientists believe they can tell us what the climate will be in the coming century. After all, what is climate but weather writ large?

Weather prediction is as reliable as it ever was. In other words it's a best guess that will win some and lose some within a 3 day period. Unless it comes to global warming where they are absolutely certain what will happen 100 years from now, as long as we keep paying through the nose for their research and adopt all kinds of policies that benefit only the elite and are too inefficient to stand on their own without robbing the taxpayer and degrading the lives of millions. Paying more taxes to hold the C02 trace gas essential for life in check is considered logic in a world gone insane. Our best educated are marching in the streets demanding a end to the use of fossil fuels that lifted billions out of poverty and would destroy life as they know it if they succeed. So tell me again how the UN and agenda 51 is a failure and the IPCC has our best interests at heart. We are paying untold $ millions to support them so it must be true that they have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. So, as O'Reilly always likes to ask, "where am I going wrong here ?"

"In other words it's a best guess that will win some and lose some within a 3 day period."

True. I often plan according to the 5 day forecast but have said often that days 4-5 are just maybes. I do expect them to have some accuracy about tomorrow, but since we know they'll lie about yesterday expecting accuracy about the next day, tomorrow, is blind optimism.

I recall reading an abridged version of "The Weather War"...all about Axis and Allied efforts to gain data for accurate weather forecasting.

The Allies had a signal success with the weather re Overlord and the Nazis fumbled the ballgame. The Allies had bad luck with Market Garden while the Nazis had some success with the Ardennes Offensive.

The Uboats were used a weather stations and the sub hunter aircraft and surface units performed the same function for the Allies.

A lotta effort for mixed results.

"My deepest apologies to many key decision makers and so many members of the general public."

No sir. If you had ANY idea of an apology, you would be putting in your resignation. But then maybe that is just me thinking that wxmen and politicians have some thing called morals and ethics.

I hear their getting up to 29 to 30 inches and more on the way what will AL GORE,DAVID SUZUKI and JAMES HANSON say now?

You'll never get a peep out of them when it's winter , but wait for the first hot day and the headlines will be filled with their predictions of doom.

"Weather forecasting more difficult due to climate change"

Actually they've been using that excuse for years.

The massive snowstorm was coming but the climate changed and global warming melted the snow. Proof positive right before our very eyes. What more do you people need?

These nondangerous dangers heaped up out pure hype seem to be the Marxist stock in trade these days,
perhaps designed to add a tad of excitement to the dull lives of the gullible, both child and adult.
NatGeo also does it constantly but poorly on their various TV series.
Then there was a an item recently on a southern US grade school where kids were asked to donate canned
food instead of other lighter stuff because it could be weaponized in case "bad people" came to the school
to "hurt the children".
No mention if the school official responsible for this bit of unique precious reasoning was going to be
institutionalized or more likely, promoted.
