Reader Tips

On January 30, 1972, British troops opened fire on unarmed civilians in Derry, Ireland during a civil rights march, killing 14. Sunday Bloody Sunday is a tribute to the victims, by U2.

Comments are open for your tips.

(Whoops! This post was written some time ago and scheduled. Sorry for the double RT threads, and for stepping on your toes, EBD).

What was wrong with the other readers tips ? Good tips are hard to come by y'know? Lucky I've kept one in reserve.

Charlene Corley will be released in February for her part in stealing over 20 million from the US defense department.
She and her sister noticed that you could charge any amount for shipping and the invoice would be paid in full. They charged close to 1 million for shipping 2 washers worth .19 each.

Not often I chose to object to Kates choices but three things:

1. U2 along with the likes of Sting are hypocrites I’d sooner got ignored.
2. The place is still officially Londonderry.
3. You can either accept the oft repeated narrative on the events on Easter Sunday 1972 or you could listen to the other narratives that perhaps the soldiers were defending themselves from cowards hiding behind the protesters that where armed. Even wikipeadia offers the following "Paul Challenor became the first soldier to be killed by the Provisional IRA in Derry, when he was shot by a sniper on the Creggan estate.[18] A further six soldiers had been killed in Derry by mid-December 1971.[19] 1,332 rounds were fired at the British Army, who also faced 211 explosions and 180 nail bombs[19] and who fired 364 rounds in return”.

"364 rounds in return” remember that.

Oh there is plenty more, no one came out of this smiling, but to glorify the events as U2 did is crass cynical posturing that borders on the worse excesses of modern culture.

I have no skin in this dispute except for the the following, truth has been and was buried by the leftist media, it started a rot that has continued until we are left with the garbage that passes for media today. The IRA were and are the worst form of marxist terrorists the UK had seen, killing and maimed innocents in a struggling and floundering democracy, but worst of all they showed the islamist terrorists exactly how to behave, they freely exchanged there ideals and tactics with the PLO and the extremes that we now see are directly traceable back to those marxist terrorists that have been romanticised.

Sorry Kate

Absolutely spot on.

I trained as an ammunition technical officer (ATO) at he British Army School of Ammunition, (I was in the Canadian army). Our commanding officer had done many tours in NI as a junior officer in the EOD business. Full half of his class were killed in action in NI.

Bono, being 1. A Capitalist and 2. one of the biggest tax evaders on the Island while preaching Socialism make South Parks portrayal of him dead on.
A singing, dancing lump of living feces.

excellent!

The Bono story isn't the least bit surprising, however, I'm curious as to why you would be posting this now, given the article to which you refer is approaching 5 years old. One would think that there would be an update story to the investigation by now, unless its the same people who are investigating Sgt. Bergdahl's desertion case.

Bang on

I have a friend who was in the Irish "special squads" routing out the IRA, many stories the man told, non favored the IRA, scumbags. Throw in the fact they recruited and fund raised in NA, which makes the fools who keep chirping about how good all kristians are look, well, foolish.

Yes you bible bangers, these terrorists were representatives of the Katholic Kriminal Korps

Peter (and everyone else): Kate pre-alerted me a a few months ago that she'd be posting the tips on the 30th, and unfortunately I kept that in mind as the date of publication, not the time-stamp.

In all such communications we've always gone by the time-stamp at the top of the page (which for Reader Tips is bumped ahead to midnight, i.e. the next day) rather than the actual evening of publication. I screwed up, in other words. Mea Culpa.
