Perception is a relative thing. Obama doesn't care about his political base anymore, he can't run for office again unless it's a lower office, which his ego wouldn't permit.
The 'right' side of history is determined by the Left. They are the writers and teachers of history.
I think Obama is just trying to wreck as much of the U.S. and the western world as he can manage with the power and time he has remaining.

Hard to argue with that. There were times and circumstances when I would give him the benefit of the doubt and remark that he's just stupid, but now I think it goes way beyond that.

It is pathetic the number of references to the "tar sands" in the comments. It shows how pervasive anti-oil sands propaganda has become in the mainstream media. We need a campaign to tell the world that IT IS NOT TAR (sorry for shouting) and that Canada is cleaning up the world's largest natural oil spill.
