Why would Cuba want normal relations? It would expose the lie that the American boycott is the reason their economy is in the crapper. Cuba trades with every other country in the world so American trade is irrelevant.

The State Dept. wrote the speech for Raul for f's sakes! obama would be a hero to communists and fellow neo-Marxists around the world, as well the Dem party in the old ussa. He is going to empty Guantanamo, he doesn't care what becomes of the terrorists being held there(He'll have his own body guards for years), and if he can find a way to give the base back to Cuba he will.
I still think he's interested in being Secretary-General of the UN, for him that would be like president of the world and keep the media fawning he. With all the thugs that would support him, putting sanctions on the western world for this reason or that, could be very scary.

I was SO glad to hear Cuban revolutionary hero Fidel Castro is alive and well, now if only Che is pumping gas with Elvis at a station in Arizona....

Raul is doing as every other antagonistic government in the world has been doing since 2008, testing America's resolve,knowing the Yanks have the most naive,weak President in history.

Castro will win this as I doubt he really gives a damn about Guantanamo, but will use it as a bargaining chip to gain more concessions from the bloody Kenyan.

I say offer Cuba a fair trade, Detroit to Cuba, Gitmo remains in U.S. hands.
