This has nothing to do with democracy.

Anyone who thinks this kind of infighting around nomination contests is limited only to the disgusting LPC is selectively brain-dead from too much partisan inbreeding and ignorant of history.

I was watching a show on TV last night about the ’60s (liberal biased of course) and it included a segment about the riots at the DNC in Chicago — liberal mayor setting union cops on lib/left protestors trying to disrupt a liberal convention with lib on lib scuffles inside — and blaming the conservatives!

Is that what they call embracing and celebrating diversity?
My first thoughts also… people get excited when there’s a lot of money at stake.

Still, given the amount of MONEY for all concerned that’s riding on the nomination, it shouldn’t really surprise that they get violent.
That’s the problem, of course. There’s money involved, and lots of it. Your guy gets in, you win the lottery. Your guy doesn’t get in, you get nothing. Big government means big, big payoffs for supporters of the winning team.
No one ever seems to consider the benefits of a smaller government, the same way that no one ever considers the mathematical reality of a lottery ticket. If you didn’t have half your income taken away in tax, you wouldn’t care if you won the lottery.
Can’t wait for the day when this “street” hits Westmount.
I look at this and think… I’ve got to buy that cabin in the woods somewhere soon. The whole damn country is falling apart, thankfully we’ve got some brains running the show in Ottawa right now, however we’re going to follow suit with Great Britain, France, et al. These savages are going to gain power not by fighting for it, but because we let them walk in and take it, all while welcoming them with open arms. Sigh. What can we do to turn this tide? I’m honestly asking… cause I just don’t know!
