  1. OMG – A communist calling those who give willingly though charity “sociopaths”? This just displays her toxic hypocricy and inherent misanthropy. Xenophobic, misanthropic, vindictive socialists would rather the thug state brutalize free will and engage in armed robbery than embrace uncohersed morally correct acts. – But free willed givers are the “sociopaths”. Again we see the moral ambiguity of the degenerate left. This evil they inject into everything they touch is the reason I believe there is no solution to depraved socialist/prog/leftist agendas except a political cleansing of our culture of this cancer.

  2. Zoe is a bit on the nutty side, but I have sympathy for people who are upset by what passes for marketing on today’s store shelves. I have learned that “No Sugar Added” is a cue to search for very small print that says “22mg Sucralose per 30ml serving”. “New Handy size” is a euphemism for “20% smaller than last year, same price”. And perhaps the one most chastised on these pages: “Chevrolet (or Ford, or Dodge) gives you more truck for less than than the other guy than ever before!”
What Zoe isn’t complaining about, an should, is that the same empty promises she reads on supermarket shelves are repeated in the campaign slogans of political parties, hers as well as ours. She’d like to bring back tar and feathers and fence rails for merchants. We’d like to do the same for bureaucrats and their fuzzy-brained, self serving leaders. We’re not that different from her.

  3. Our family having had a considerable amount of experience with the political world she advocates I would tend to agree with one of the comments to David Thompson’s article, “People like her make me think Pinochet had it right.”.
Although, kakola is right, but I would add that merchants hoodwinking customers with glitzy half-truths has been going on since the beginning of time. GM or dry goods producers did not invent this. People inwardly like to be fooled.

  4. Funny how the likes of Zoe Williams luuuurves that socialism and hatez teh capitalism… but can’t stop whinging about the prices of things in the shops.
Wait until you get your gas and electric bill, Zoe. That’s gonna hurt.

  5. It’s called the politics of envy….
    It’s an ancient problem…a big problem…..hence it’s inclusion in the 10 Commandments….
    Thou shalt not covet…..

  6. One of the comments following the original post remarked upon her ‘weapons-grade stupidity’ Brilliant! I’m going to use that from now on. There sure won’t be a shortage of those to whom it can apply!
