People who are increasingly questioning Barack Obama’s competence are continuing to ignore the alternative possibility that his fundamental values and imperatives are different from theirs. You cannot tell whether someone is failing or succeeding without knowing what they are trying to do. When Obama made a brief public statement about Americans being beheaded by terrorists, and then went on out to play golf, that was seen as a sign of political ineptness, rather than a stark revelation of what kind of man he is, underneath the smooth image and lofty rhetoric.
The above is one of these.

The 2 most important things to consider when listening to a politician are 1)What does the politician really intend to try to do? and 2)What reasons are there to believe that the politician is capable of doing what they are trying to do?
One of the more annoying habits of The Media is its tendency to presume the stated purpose of a law is its real intent without looking critically at the actual provisions of the law. ex: “The ACA, which is designed to give healthcare to all Americans, …” “The Keeping Our Kids Safe bill was passed in the wake of the school shooting in order to prevent future school massacres.”
Well, okay, there is a bit of double standard applied. ex: “Texas’s Voter ID law, which some say is an attempt to suppress minority voting, was …”
Obama strikes me as having the psychology of an orphan who never found true, loving surrogate parents. Understandable since Obama never knew his father, was abandoned by his selfish, hippy, Marxist, “I-just-want-to-have-a-child-in-order-to-have-the-experience-of-childbirth” mother, fobbed off for a while on an Indonesian stepfather who really didn’t want him and then shipped off to the same grandparents who made their own daughter into a tool of The Revolution. No wonder Obama tries to get whatever he can out of life any way he can, no matter what the consequences for others might be. The world has always been a cold place to Obama, filled with selfish, callous manipulators.
Sowell has stated what should have been obvious to everyone long ago. Obama is a hardcore ideologue. Everything he has done is consistent with someone who pictures himself becoming dictator for life eventually. Laughably, the commentariat still believes that Obama will be like Clinton and mollify his positions. Obama never will. He must be defeated. He has spent his entire life being trained to be ideologically uncompromising and he has never been made to pay any real personal or political price for his inflexibility.
Unfortunately, Obama’s ideology is not the only one at work in today’s political atmosphere. The old school Democrats and the Republican Establishment want to transform the U.S. government so that it is based on the same core principle as the governments of western Europe – using tax dollars to buy political influence in the form of gov contracts, subsidies and special regulatory treatment for the powerful and well-connected, direct handouts and “free” gov services for the majority of voters. The old school Dems have been purged from the Dem leadership, leaving nothing but radicals. The Repub establishment seems to have woken up to Obama’s radicalism, but since they still want government without limits, including government-run healthcare, the RP refuses to act as an opposition party.
The Republican partisans celebrating the last election are fooling themselves if they think anything is really going to change for the better.
Regarding Obama, he’s the most successful president in my lifetime. He’s gotten every single thing he wanted, so far. If he succeeds with flooding the country with illegals, he’ll have the full hat trick. He’s not fooling too many Americans now, but he’s still getting what he wants.
On the bright side, he’d destroyed the DemocRat Party to do it. Yay!
Regarding the Obamacare thing, it does not pay to underestimate the venality and contempt possessed by top DemocRat movers and shakers. They are -assholes- of the first water. I’ve been watching the health insurance trade in the USA since the early 1990’s. It is rotten in its philosophical foundations and in its leadership. Rotten from the top down, and from the bottom up. It is a trillion dollar scam invented by and run by people with mediocre minds who hate Americans and want them brought to heel.
As to the speech codes on college campuses, there is only one possible response that doesn’t involve screaming [F-word] Off!!! in the offender’s face. That response is “-Make- me.” I see a lot more of that every day, on the web. There’s a whole cottage industry of Social Justice Warriors (SJWs) active on the web, getting into things as diverse as book reviews, Science Fiction awards, and as David posted yesterday, punk rock. (Which died with Sid and Nancy, IMHO.)
Of note is Larry Correia’s “Sad Puppies” campaign. The purpose of this joke was to get some Conservative authors like himself on the Hugo Awards ballot and watch the Literati Left go nuts trying to keep them from winning. Two awards seasons running, he’s succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. The SJWs have gone into a paroxysm of hate and rage each time. Complete with racial slurs, inventive sexual grotesqueries, and the old Lefty favorite, death threats. Also threats of acid throwing and attacks on family.
Then there’s GamerGate, the robust response by videogame makers to the SJWs attacking them in the gamer oriented media. SJWs attack, game company owners tell them to go [expletive deleted] themselves. SJWs then freak out and issue death threats. Hilarity ensues.

well no, Obumbles is incapable of ideology, he is a pathological narcissist, and it is quite obvious that many in here are in capable of fathoming what that means. Obumble’s thought process does not function the same way as that of most ppl. I know that that fact is hard for most ppl to grasp, as a dyslexic, one of the problem I face constantly is that ppl can not understand that I do not think like they do. And that gives me some advantage in understanting the zero. He does not come to a conclusion through the same thought process as you and I do, and you do not come to conclusions using the same thought process as I do!
I just hope the declaration by Boehner that impeachment won’t happen is a trap that Obama will surely walk right into.
Personally, I feel that many here are giving far too much credit regarding Obama’s intellect. Intelligent people do not have to secure their education records or escape their job at every opportunity on endless rounds of golf and vacations. He shows his true intellect when there is no teleprompter and he’s forced to just wing it. The one does not necessarily exclude the other. He gets all his preening and props from the Lefties, so that’s where all his attention goes. I agree that his motivation seems to be more personal than ideological, witness the wreckage he’s left in his wake. An ideologue would have been more concerned with keeping the Party strong, whereas Barry used it up getting what he wanted.

I think it is easy to assume that Obama is a moron because no one can understand why someone would deliberately try to ruin a functioning country. I still think he is incompetent but he also has malicious, sociopathic purpose.

Evidence for his ideological motivation are his major appointments which have always gone to people he personally knows to be loyal fellow travelers, no matter how unqualified they are for the position. Also, he has been very consistent ideologically in expanding executive power by ignoring laws, in imposing onerous regulations, in suppressing dissent, by rewarding favored groups with dispensations from laws and regulations and by taking every possible action to get as many people dependent on gov handouts as he can.
Can you think of anything that Obama has done domestically that is not consistent with making it more difficult to do business, with making it harder to find a job, with creating greater fiscal strain on taxpayers or with creating dependence on government?
