Y2Kyoto: I'll Miss The Gummy Bears

| 11 Comments

Extinction event;

Arviat, Nunavut, is moving Halloween indoors this year because of the danger to trick-or-treating children from polar bears.

The bears have been coming into the community more in recent years, especially in the fall during freeze-up. That's why the hamlet met with the public this week to discuss alternatives to trick or treating door-to-door.

This story in the sidebar also raises a few questions;

" He says Johnny was one of the many town alcoholics he regularly detoxed in hospital — a likeable, happy, drunk he's treated hundreds of times."

I dunno?

I've spent a bit of time in the arctic....quite a bit of time actually. I wouldn't dick around with a polar bear or a griz for that matter on Halloween or any other day.

Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you and sometimes you just have to be damn sure that you are haloweening with someone that you can outrun.

Well,,
Leave a bottle of Coke outside and what do you expect?
(it will freeze, but that doesn't really happen you know)
Besides,
Whats a few kids if you can keep a poor, maybe drowning polar bear happy on Holloween?
Do you want it stay at the same old dump its been hanging around for years?
What kind of a treat is that!
Cut the Coke 50/50 with rum and they wont go after the kids.
Cheap a holes

Shoot the bears from helicopters, at night, with infrared sights.
Apex predators got to go.

But..but.. I thought polar bears were on the way to extinction due to something called global warming.

If the children were white the Left would be demanding that they be fed to the bears as a sacrifice to Mother Gia - or - The memory of Jack Layton take your pick.

Anyway you people are so yesterday with your "Global Warming" & "Climate Change"................Today we talk about "Climate Disturbance"!

You heared it here first.

I guess I'll stop complaining about the skunk that sneaks around at night and digs holes in my yard.

First person that speaks to me about 'Climate disturbance' gets, "You, Sir or Madam, are disturbed. Deeply and utterly, disturbed." Don't make me call the people in white coats.
These days, ...I've got them on speed dial and they're getting a lot of overtime.

. Michael Mann has a new video out .... he is trying to explain his hockey stick graph .... of course at the first part of the video he features that lonely Polar Bear on a tiny little ice flow in the arctic

..... but then toward the end of the video he says he wants to save the planet for his daughter .... who he photographed beside a Polar Bear

.... a Polar Bear trapped inside an aquarium in the Pittsburgh Museum.
