WUWT;

Australian Political Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has today stunned observers by reversing his position on a carbon tax - ruling out any future reinstatement of a carbon tax.

Losing elections may not make leftists see the light, but they do feel the heat.

Somewhere Lizzy May and Suzuki are weepin' for Gaia and the subsuquent loss of income from their fairy tale LOL

But you have to give our government in B.C. credit,while the evidence mounts,they hold fast to our beloved 8 cents a liter carbon tax,which finances bicycle lanes and windmills in Tumbler Ridge.

Those damned Australians have caused the left so much heartbreak with their ability to see through the bullsh*t.

(Quote)to internal pressure from their union supporters, some of whom are concerned about the impact of carbon pricing on jobs and pay.{/quote)

Wow! they realize that the consequence of AGW (a UN/EU communist Global agenda) mainly targets the middle class. Yes! your Union leaders are well paid to deliver members that are the main entrée (dead meat).

It's called "Minds Eye" the ability to for-see consequences.

All they did was remove support for direct taxation. They will slip it in the backdoor as a cap and trade mechanism, which in effect just shifts the taxation you pay directly at point of sale to the manufacturers who will in turn raise the price of their products. A bonus for the government is that point of sale taxes like GST and HST are based on price of the product. Artificially increase price of product, the government gets more point of sale tax revenue. Its musical chairs, with the taxpayer left standing after the music stops.

Pretty much puts the quietus on Gillard's political career within the Australian Labour Party.

Those damned Australians have caused the left so much heartbreak with their ability to see through the bullsh*t.

I hope our government continues to follow suit. It would be even better if they can corner JT into admitting he wants a carbon tax.

Well isn't that the essence of Leftard political thought. If voters actually don't like what you spout then simply change the message. Young Turdo is a
master at that, or thinks he is.

I really wish we could bury this AGW nonsense ASAP, first so that legitimate climate scientists can get back to doing real research on the earth's climate, something which obviously has huge impacts on the world's population e.g. being able to forecast the strength and duration of the monsoon; and second so that real science doesn't suffer an even bigger smear on its credibility than it's already suffered at the hands of these climate pseudo-scientists such as Michael Mann. One senses a subtle trend in the research papers in the field as the mountains of evidence pile up to the effect that AGW is a non-issue. But the scientists remain obviously intimidated as they still feel the need to attach their little riders to the papers to the effect that, "As is written in the first book of Sea Ice, chapter II beginning at the third verse, 'The wicked shall be mightily roasted and drowned, yea even within their SUVs as was and is foretold by the prophets Mann and Gore.' Amen"
