What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

I thought the whole point was for Europe to free itself from Russian dependence?

This is the old time Eastern Chess players that are playing against the bubble wrapped generation trying to figure out checkers in the West. Also in headlines today, the Chinese just dropped $2 Billion on the Waldorf in New York. A little gift to itself for becoming the worlds biggest economy after just 20 years of really trying.

For those that can't see what's happening, the rest of the world, with some naive help from the left and bonus hungry corporation, are sucking the blood out of the US economy, building up their own wealth and then carving off the parts they want. This buying of our resource rights, strategic companies and technology is much much cheaper than starting WW3 and they get to profit from these assets rather than trying to turn them to ash.

When the corpse is full of debt and lacking in buying power they will pull the necessary economic levers and watch the US implode. Russia already tried to convince China to push the button with them, but China and it's parasite allies inside America aren't done feeding off the middle class guts yet.

The wests conversion to green energy was so destructive that all Russia had to do was sit back and marvel at the stupidity of the warmists and their rush to eliminate anything related to fossil fuels in a effort to fight a non existing problem . Might as well sell the storage facilities because Russia already controls the content. It also controls the thermostats across Europe because a cold winter would prove green energy as useless, and Putin knows it.

Americans did this to themselves by demanding cheap stuff. To produce the cheap stuff the companies moved their production to Asia where labor is cheap, unions don't exist, workers live in barracks, and there are no environmental controls to stop pollution. Americans can't grasp why their friends and neighbors are unemployed when the company they worked for shuts down, since it's products are now made in Asia. Americans have this foolish notion that they are entitled to low prices and high wages. Are Canadians any different? You decide.

They could have payed a little more for good quality 'Made in USA', and kept their neighbors employed, but they're not very smart at that sort of thing. China plays Go; America plays checkers, badly.

China is buying American real estate at 10 cents on the dollar. The newly minted Chinese upper middle class will move to America and set up shop. China conquered America in the aisles of MalWart, without ever firing a shot or destroying any real estate.

I'm buying stock in gun powder n lead!!!

It is, to me, interesting that BASF is in this deal but not surprising. They have had interesting partnerships in the past; BASF was the controlling partner in a large chemical conglomerate named IG Farben some years ago. And one of the companies under that umbrella was Degussa (now Evonik-Degussa)- manufacturer of a pesticide known as Zyglon B.

In the last couple of days I read the USA is now self sufficient in oil ..... also an article that Europe is softening their stance against Alberta Tar Sands oil and are considering importing some now .... there is still HOPE the world has come to its senses after the global warming debacle !!!!

,

the main reason this country is going downhill is that libs/progressives/dems have become cultural marxists and should be locked away in mental institutions, just check this video to see the level of their insanity.

The contentious $15.1-billion takeover of Canadian oil and gas company Nexen Inc. by Chinese state-owned entity CNOOC Ltd closed on Monday, more than seven months after China’s largest-ever foreign takeover was announced.

Arnie;
Two of the biggest credit risks in the future are interested in Canadian heavy crude which could be shipped from Halifax. The Euros who are slowly going down the toilet and India who has been on COD out of the ME for some time.

Canada has always been a easy touch. Suckers are usually easy to pick out.

Expect emergency pipeline maintenance to be required sometime this February, unless the EU backs off Ukraine and the rest of the Baltic.

Oil sands please

Hilarious. You have no idea what a 'tell' ranting against prices being 'to low' is, north-of-60.
Nobody else I've read here at SDA over the years ever utters such rubbish.
What's next, are you going to get on your anti-Walmart hobby horse and ride it a few laps?

The analysis is flawed - the root cause is American unions and union greed.

Maybe the UK will be invaded & spared Muslim rule if Russia takes them over.

That's OK, you weren't expected to understand, your faulty logic has been amply demonstrated before, and yet once again.

Nice of you to admit that you couldn't grasp the meaning of "Americans have this foolish notion that they are entitled to low prices and high wages." That's what unions do. Try to keep up.

Maybe Europe needs to freeze in the dark to unfcuk itself. And it's the Germans.. expect nothing less. I swear we'd be better off if the Enola Gay had toured Berlin and Moscow.

Being a cheerleader for inflated prices as you are, you must have an indexed Public-sector Union pension. Or you're just stoopid.
Nice changing your nic from north-of-60 to the inappropriate John Galt when the Atlas Shrugged character would be on the opposite side of the issue from your inflationary zeal.
You've no logical sense of who that character is.

Nope, self employed most of my life, never belonged to any union, no "indexed Public-sector Union pension".

JOHN GALT, author and colonizer; b. 2 May 1779 in Irvine, Scotland, son of John Galt, a ship’s captain, and Jean Thomson; d. 11 April 1839 in Greenock, Scotland. Among other notable accomplishments he founded the town of Guelph Ontario, and was responsible for the early development of the region. He is directly related to me.

Why do you seem to have a problem because signing in with my Yahoo ID uses my given name instead of "North_of_60"? I got tired of having to type in the captcha code. Why do you care what name someone uses on a public forum? Those who can't control their own lives, compensate by trying to control the lives of others.

What does your perception of Atlas Shrugged have to do with anything?

As usual you're still showing ignorance by incorrectly making assumptions about people you don't know. Keep it up, at least it's amusing and I couldn't care less what you imagine about me. You're the one looking foolish.

"He is directly related to me."

Yeah, sure. And I'm the Czar of All the Russians./ Ensign Chekov
Intellectually honest people are forthright about changing their nic, but oh no, not you. I'll just keep calling you n-of-60 so you can keep carrying the baggage, such as insisting prices are too low and being a cheerleader for the Russian resurgence. Oh, and let's not forget the French fry grease.

Nope, I know nothing about you./

"Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people." - Eleanor Roosevelt

You have a nice day now.

You too, north-of-60.

So now China and Russia are set.

Oh joy...

"So now China and Russia are set.

Oh well, it's not like the people of the west wern't warned with reason by brighter people than themselves. Live & Learn, a free and open society comes around every few thousand years or so.............

You use big words, but can't even follow your own logic. Unions caused Americans to shop around elsewhere. Americans didn't cause unions.

Americans didn't cause unions. Posted by: Watto

You might want to read up on the history of the union movement in America.

Unions are now redundant, legislation guarantees what unions once fought for. Now unions only reward mediocrity and stifle merit. Unions in N.America are a concept long past it's 'best before date'.
