Yes, a good summary of the biggest threat to Islam. And the horny dilemma will have its way with many of his countrymen. That he can raise the point at all gives the hope of an eventual Reformation.

Yeah well, expecting Islam to undergo a reformation like Christianity involves understanding the basis for either religion.

Then there is the unique problem that Islam, really a political ideology, developed and refined, over a period of several centuries, deliberately designed to resist any modification, moderation or desertion. There have been no, nor can there be genuine secular rulers, that's how it was designed by the clergy. The concept of a Caliph and a caliphate is unique to Islam. Totalitarian rule that mostly avoids ethnic/tribal factors....because the clergy (and the caliphs) know that all caliphates are eventually eroded, defeated by ethic/tribal factions.

The Ottomans understood this and exploited this more successfully than any caliphate before or since.

Just as Frederick the Great's Prussia was an army with a country....Islam is a religion with a country(s).

I don't know why people can't see that Islam is going through its 'reformation' now. The Christian reformation was an attempt to return to the roots/basics of Christianity. ISIS, MB, etc are attempting to return Islam to its roots/basics. Sorry folks but you can not plant pumpkin seeds and expect apples. Just like pumpkin seeds beget pumpkins and apple seeds produce apples so too does fundamentalist Christianity produce Mennonites and fundamentalist Islam produce ISIS.
