About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Too bad he didn't have a taser as well, now that would have been entertaining!
None of this would ever occur in a Liberalized North American country, the bus driver would have been locked away for 20 years (caveat - unless he was a "visible minority" of course).
Ya know, in every single instance, in every single country, all you have to do is get rid of the communists and their socialist useful idiots, and you can quickly get a fairly decent country! Think about it. Are those demonstrating scum that want to remake any country in their image really capable of establishing or running a decent free society?
Whacko!
Old Country;
I understand what you are saying but my experience is that scum exist on both sides of that ledger. More on the leftish side by far however. Any moral standard that existed is gone now.
And that right there demonstrates the necessity of the US constitutional second amendment.
Nobody but nobody is more effective at vigilantly protecting someones rights than a citizenry with the ability to arm themselves.
I'm a BC boy who's worked in the woods, and I have some important advice for one and all: ax handles! Ergonomically they fit the irate hand wonderfully, their somewhat ovoid shape makes them far more versatile, and they're easier to store in a handy spot.
They're cheaper, too. You can get three for the price of a reasonable baseball bat. But you'll only need one, and you won't even have to use it. Just show it and the problem goes away. Quickly.
If that happened here, the Left and the Media Party would circle the wagons around the little creep. The bus driver would be arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Mulcair and Trudeau would explain why the little creep was the victim and blame Harper. Wendy Cukier would demand more gun restrictions and blame Harper.
MikeT >
All true, but don't forget the spontaneous gay pride parade that would break out in TO along with called from the Liberal Left to support Hama's while Justin Turdeau is compelled to give demonstrative seminars on Yoga as the cure to global violence committed by Anglo's.
Well said Mike T and Knight 99.
Three cheers for this bus driver.
Only thing that would have made it better: "I'm Batman!"
The LEFT has, I believe, a term for this sort of thing: DIRECT ACTION.
OUTSTANDING!
Who says men can't multitask?
Baseball bat sales are quite robust all over Europe, via the internet - Amazon, etc.
and also at more traditional retail outlets. Playing baseball is more of a small niche
sport. The purists like Louisville Sluggers but smaller "official Little League" bats
and cheap aluminum bats from China have their fans too. Commonly kept close at hand at
home or in small shops in case a good chance to "get in some good swing practice" occurs.
I have twopoints in reply to your statement:
1) The article was from Chile, a country that went through socialists hell. When they finally through their politically correct opperssors, they reinstituted common sense and now have one of the freest, nicest countries in the world, certainly the free and nicest in SA. The other comments on this thread sarced the reason for the difference.
2) You used the stupid, illogical moral equivalence argument when you argued that both sides have scum. You are equating one scum with a thousand scum. "they are morally equivalent." The same argument says that ISIS who cuts the heads off of people they don't like, who enslave women and kill homosexuals have the same scum and moral equivalent of Israel, who doesn't cut off heads, doesn't enslave women and doesn't kill homosexuals, but probably does have a goodly number of pick pockets.
That was magical.
If, as Mike T said, that did occur here, that would-be thief would be lauded and the driver and passenger would be made to suffer.
You can bet that he got a worse beating from the cops too, once they had him in custody.
no broken bones and no bloody face. wasn't really a beating, well deserved as it was!
Perfect...the little puke got exactly what he deserved.
And I agree with the 2nd Amendment comment earlier.
Stk
I've always found a cut-off hockey stick to be rather efficacious. The souvenir baseball bat has its fans, but hockey sticks are laminated. Very difficult to break.
Still, the venerable tire-iron or even the BFW are quite handy for those demanding social occasions. For BFWs I prefer the one-and-a-quarter inch closed end wrench, although I hear good things about the old reliable spud wrench.
My favorite is the four-cell Maglight. Because "hey, its just a flashlight officer."
