Riding Mass Transit Is Like Inviting 20 Random Hitchhikers Into Your Car

Trust the experts: Dr. Tom Frieden, director for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said during a telephone press briefing Wednesday that you cannot get Ebola by sitting next to someone on a bus, but that infected or exposed persons should not ride public transportation because they could transmit the disease to someone else.

Perhaps Ebola can only be transmitted if you sit in front of or behind someone on a bus. Or perhaps Dr. Tom Frieden, director for the Center For Disease Control, is a less than trustworthy source of information. You decide.

If you can't get Ebola from sitting on a bus, then who cares if infected people ride?

But if infected people can transmit it, then you can get it from your neighbour on the bus.
